How to make a video using a simple editor for Windows

Digital photography has long been part of our daily lives. The cost of budget cameras makes them very interesting even for a person with an average income. As a result, almost every family has a collection of selected pictures on their computer’s hard drive or on a laser CD. Indeed, it’s so great sometimes to revise photographs and show them to relatives and acquaintances. But one of the character traits of each person is the desire for the best. Photographs are static images of moments of life, like frozen time. Their opposite is videos. Of course, it’s convenient to purchase a camcorder, but the disadvantage of this solution is the high cost (especially of high-quality models). In addition, if you know how to make a video of your selected photos, then the camera is not needed.

What is it for? Still, a video clip from photos and a full-fledged video are slightly different things. The answer is simple. Such a video can be sent to distant relatives via the Internet; working with the editor program, you can create a real masterpiece from which a loved one will be delighted. For example, if you create your own video clip from selected photos, add “your” soundtrack, then this is the best gift for a loved one. Who doubts - check.

So how to make a video? This will require: photographs, an audio file of the desired duration, an editor program, a little free time and, of course, the desire to create a masterpiece. Let's dwell on the programs in more detail.
There are quite a few of them - for every color and taste. There are two differences: different functionalities and distribution method (paid or free). One of the easiest and most affordable programs is Windows Movie Maker. In the well-known Windows XP operating system, it can be found in the Start button menu. The newer “seven” will have to figure out how to make a video, since Movie Maker is not included in the system for some reason, so the program will have to be downloaded and installed separately. When choosing an installation package, pay attention to the bit depth, it should correspond to the bit size of the operating system (32 or 64).

So, open the "Start" menu, go to "Accessories" and launch the Movie Maker editor. Selecting the image import panel, specify the desired pictures (Ctrl + left mouse button). By the way, using the Drag & Drop method, you can selectively drag pictures into the windows of the editing scale at the bottom of the program window. In general, perhaps this is the best way, since it allows you to achieve the necessary flexibility of the installation process. For each frame (image), you can select visual effects (alas, their list is not too large). Opening the audio panel, select the desired file. The scale shows the correspondence of video and audio streams, we achieve the desired one (otherwise, a situation may arise when the video is still playing, but there is no sound anymore). The prepared clip can be viewed by pressing the "Play" button. Quite convenient, as it is clear where and what needs to be changed. By the way, before pressing Play, do not forget to move the cursor to the desired start of playback. After the preparation of the clip is completed, it remains only to save it on the medium by selecting the appropriate item in the menu and indicating the desired quality.
Of the alternative solutions, it is worth noting Sony Vegas. Unfortunately, this editor program is distributed on a paid basis, but it has great functionality. The principle of operation is similar to Movie Maker: drag and drop images onto the scale, add an audio track, insert effects. And, of course, telling how to make a video, one cannot but mention Nero Vision. The advantage of this editor is that it is part of the Nero software package, a well-known CD burning solution. Although it can be downloaded as a separate application.
