At the moment, active recreation in the mountains is quite popular among young people. In winter they relax at ski resorts, and in summer they just go out into the countryside or go camping. In addition to ordinary organized companies that actively relax, there are also so-called circles or sections specializing in mountain tourism. In almost every city or region of our vast country, there is at least one, or even several, of such organizations. During the year (most often 1-2 times in spring, summer and autumn), several competitions are held among several teams of one or more closely located cities, including orienteering, recognition of topographic signs, knot knots, ascent-traverse-descent, crossing river in several ways. This event is a tour rally, the script of which is very eventful. The competition program at such events does not change, the stages remain the same, but you need to think carefully about the plan of a 5 or even 10-day camp so that the participants do not get bored in their free time from the competition. It is necessary to compile a script for the tour, prepare a competitive program, theme nights and much more. But the most important thing is to find a suitable place for the camp.
Tour venue
Most often, such competitions are held in the mountains, so when choosing a place you need to take into account the features of the upcoming event and try to be guided by the following recommendations:
- the area of the future camp should be large enough to accommodate all participants;
- within a radius of a kilometer or two there should be a river, as well as a small rocky lunge. This is necessary for a more interesting and lively competition in natural conditions, rather than artificial;
- the camp should not be more than an hour's drive from the nearest village, as during the competition participants can get serious injuries, which in the field will be difficult to handle.
Choosing the right location is already half the way to having an excellent tour rally. The scenario for this is the next task.
5 day tour plan
Basically, such events do not last longer than a week, the most optimal time for them is 5 days. During this time, competitions are held in several stages, thematic evenings and competitions, as well as a training program. It is due to the fact that the duration of the camp is short, its program is very eventful and interesting, and this involves an organized tour rally. The scenario of the event for 5 days may be as follows:
- Arrival teams in the morning. During the day, organizing a camp, camping and getting to know the area. In the evening, you can arrange a small contest around the campfire on the instructions of the teams. In the submission, the teams will have to say their name, motto, introduce the captain and decide on the choice of persons responsible for a particular business. Well, of course, at the end of the performance, each team should hear a song symbolizing the name.
- On the second day, you can let the participants prepare for the competition, practice on the ground, master it a bit. On a planning meeting, announce captains exemplary tasks for classes A and B (difficulty categories) so that they can prepare their teams for the competition.
- On the 3rd day, arrange a contest in the CCI (tourist obstacle course). In the morning to draw lots to determine the order of speakers for different classes of teams. After this, it is necessary to give the participants of the first team 1 hour to prepare, then release to the obstacle course after every 20-40 minutes of competitors. Depending on the order of the performing teams and the category of difficulty, the time can be changed.
- On the 4th day of the camp, you can arrange the final competition of teams on KTM (control tourist route). Also do not forget about the draw and the order of the acting teams.
- The final day of the camp is usually dedicated to the solemn rewarding of teams with valuable prizes in accordance with the occupied places.
Of course, everyone has their own preferences and ideas on how to conduct a tour, the scenario can therefore be changed a little. However, sticking to the above plan will be rational.
Essential Trivia
To attract participants to the tour rally, the organizers need to send out the so-called invitations or business cards for each team to participate. This part of the event must be included in the script. Business cards for the tour must be sent to team representatives at least a month before the event.
