Lipetsk State Puppet Theater has existed for 40 years. The repertoire is based on performances for young viewers. Although there are productions for adults as well.
History
The address where the puppet theater is located: Lipetsk, st. Gagarin, house 74. It opened in July 1965. The first performance of the troupe is “Honest Word” based on the play by Sergei Mikhalkov. Over the years of its existence, the theater has been on the verge of closure many times, the reason for this is the disorder, the inability to show all the works that we would like. In those years, the repertoire included such performances as “Divine Comedy”, “Military Secret”, “Shaitan - a Leather Ear”, “Goat Luplyanaya”, “By the Pike Commandment”, “Armenian Legend”, “Friends of Little Kitty”, “ Tiger cub Petrik ”,“ I count to five ”,“ White, red, black ”,“ City of Swan ”,“ Alyonushka and the soldier ”,“ Mysterious hippo ”,“ Giraffe and Rhinoceros ”,“ Polka-dotted boy ”,“ Little bear Rimtimti ”and a lot others.
The Puppet Theater (Lipetsk) went on tour throughout the Soviet Union, as well as in some other countries. The troupe began to take an active part in various festivals, which has been successfully done to this day. At the beginning of the 2000s, the theater building was closed for restoration, which lasted three years. Overhaul was completed in 2008.
The Puppet Theater (Lipetsk) opened the season in the renovated building with the production of “Troubadour and his friends”. In 2013, the troupe visited a festival in the French city of Avignon. In the city of Tambov, the troupe won a laureate diploma. It was a theater festival. It was called "Traditions of antiquity deep."
Since 2011, the theater itself has organized a festival for professional puppet theaters within its walls. The name was given to him: “Pushkin sources. Korenevschino. " Troupe from different cities took part in it. This festival was held on the initiative of the puppeteers of the city of Lipetsk. He was declared permanent. This festival will now be held once in three years. Summing up its results, announcing and rewarding the winners takes place in the Russian village of Korenevshchino, in the Lipetsk region, on the birthday of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.
In addition to performances and chic appearance, the Lipetsk Puppet Theater pleases the audience with the appearance of a museum in it. Here you can see a variety of dolls that are interesting both to small viewers and large. The museum allows you to trace the history of the development of the Lipetsk theater.

Festivals
Puppet Theater (Lipetsk) is the organizer of several projects. Namely festivals. The first of them is called, as mentioned above, "Pushkin sources. Korenevshchino." Last time it took place in Lipetsk in June 2014. This time it was dedicated to the bicentennial anniversary of Mikhail Yurievich Lermontov. The participants of the festival presented performances based on the works of this great Russian writer to the jury. Troupe came from Ozersk, Perm and Ryazan. Another festival, about which has also been mentioned above, is "The Traditions of the Old Ages." It was held last time in April 2015. It took place in Tambov and was dedicated to the anniversary of the puppet theater of this city. Nine professional theater groups from different cities came to the festival.
