The Cash Flow Quadrant is the name of the book of the famous American businessman, investor, teacher and writer Robert Kiyosaki. She entered the list of bestsellers according to Business Week and The New York Times. Only fifteen books on the financial education of people came from the pen of Robert Kiyosaki. The Cash Flow Quadrant is the author’s second book.
The most popular was Kiyosaki's work “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, in which the investor narrates his life through the prism of two views: his father, the poor dad, and the father of his friend, the mentor of the future millionaire, the rich dad. In the book, he confronts these two completely opposite worldviews, showing the main differences in judgments and principles. Kiyosaki expresses the idea that financial success is one hundred percent dependent on a person’s worldview.

The biography of the American millionaire of Japanese origin is quite saturated. Born in the state of Hawaii in the family of a professor, he chose the career of office clerk to go to the front. Upon returning from the war, he got a job as a manager in the sales department of Xerox Corporation, in which he was repeatedly recognized as the best employee. In 1977, Kiyosaki launched his own business for the production and sale of leather and nylon products. The success came to the company when it began to produce waterproof “surfer wallets”. Eight years later, Kiyosaki retired and devoted himself to writing books and teaching.
About the book
The “Cash Flow Quadrant” is a kind of continuation of the first book. In this publication, the author continues to develop the idea of the difference in the perception of the world by different groups of people. In relation to the process of making money, Kiyosaki divides all people into four groups. To do this, he introduces the concept of "cash flow quadrant." Four Kiyosaki Quadrants:
- civil servants and employees;
- self-employed population, owners of private practices, experts;
- business owners;
- investors.
Representatives of each of these groups are characterized by their own attitude to risks, to employment, to business and to the management of money. Robert himself refers to the last two, however, he admits that before achieving absolute financial independence, he had to try his hand at each of the quadrants.
Due to the great popularity of the publication, an audio version was later released. Currently, you can read or listen to the Cash Flow Quadrant in the voice acting of Alexander Aksyonov.
Rat race
“Rat Race” is a term used by Kiyosaki himself and his co-author Sharon Lecter. The concept is introduced to indicate the cycle of consumption, forcing a person to spend most of his life doing unloved business in order to acquire things that he does not need.
The main message of the book “The Quadrant of Cash Flow”, according to Kiyosaki himself, is the termination of the “rat race” and a directed movement towards financial independence. Along with Bodo Shefer, Robert Kiyosaki is still one of the most popular investment writer practitioners.
Kiyosaki also developed the board game "Financial Flow 101", which educates people on sound financial strategies and rules for managing money. The game was popular, so Cash Flow 202 was later released.
