For lovers of firearms, many different models of rifle units have been created. Therefore, many are interested in what kind of gun to buy a novice hunter? The fact is that each weapon option has both strengths and weaknesses, which are difficult for a beginner to understand. Judging by numerous consumer reviews, the TOZ-200 rifle is in great demand. This model is suitable for hunters and traders, as well as for fans of sports shooting. Information on the device and the performance characteristics of the TOZ-200 rifle unit is contained in this article.
Meet the weapons
TOZ-200 is a double-barreled hunting rifle in which the trunks are located vertically. It is produced at an arms factory in the city of Tula.
This model is considered atypical hunting weapons. Unlike other rifle units, a vertical shotgun is equipped with 76 mm rounds. Their increased charges, according to experts, are not able to withstand other models of hunting rifles. To become the owner of the TOZ-200, you will have to pay up to 15 thousand rubles. Weapons are sold with a passport and instructions. Judging by the reviews, the TOZ-200 is not equipped with interchangeable muzzle contractions, care tools, and other accessories.
History of creation
According to experts, the main reason why they began to design this shooting model was that many hunters switched to shotguns using ammunition with an increased charge. The use of cartridges of the Magnum class is possible only in shotguns with a reinforced general design. This, in turn, led to an increase in the weight of the weapon and the length of the barrel. Often the owners of hunting rifles, especially the TOZ-34, had difficulty disassembling weapons.

To make the front trigger function as a special key, with which it would be possible to detach the box from the trunks, it was technically difficult to perform. Over time, later models began to equip with a special flag, which was used as a lever for disconnecting. However, with the advent of this separate part, disassembly did not become easier. It so happened that the shooter could accidentally shift the flag, as a result of which the gun at the most crucial moment split into two halves. The basis for the TOZ-200 was the Tula shooting model No. 34. In the new weapon, the designers combined all the strengths of the TOZ-34 with new original solutions.
About design
As a result of frequent firing of cartridges with enhanced charges, the gun mechanism quickly becomes unusable. As a result, the block of trunks is noticeably shaky. To extend the operational resource in the TOZ-200, Tula developers equipped it with a swivel mechanism.

This device was borrowed from the sports model of the MC. Thus, due to the presence of a hinge and the ability to adjust the thickness of the frontal plate in the receiver, the longitudinal and transverse pitching of the trunks is eliminated. In addition, the connection between the receiver and the receiver turned out to be stronger. Aiming is carried out using a ventilated bar and a bronze front sight. A gun with a fixed forearm and a semi-pistol-type bed. The stock, which the designers borrowed from the TOZ-34, is equipped with a shock-absorbing butt plate. The trunks are unlocked using a standard lever, which is presented in the form of a metal rotary plate. Its location was the top face in the receiver. The trunks are blocked by the lower latch, which is also called the Perde bar.
USM
The trigger mechanism is a separate assembly. It has two internal triggers and two descents. Structurally, it is identical to USM TOZ-34. It differs only in combat springs. The new gun was equipped with single-leaf leaf springs. This measure was taken to reduce their damage. A shot from the lower barrel channel is carried out by the front descent, from the upper barrel - the rear. Triggers are cocked, and the fighting springs are pressed into position when opening the trunks. This shooting model is equipped with platoon indicators. Their location was the top of the box. To exclude accidental shooting, Tula designers equipped the trigger with special interceptor interceptors and a non-automatic fuse that locks the sear. The spent cartridges are removed from the chamber with the help of ejector extractors, which are located in the chamber. The hunter only needs to open the trunks.
How to use?
To unlock the receiver, you need to move the lever to the right side. At the same time, thanks to the articulated mechanism, the trigger is cocked in the trigger mechanism, and the lever, which is responsible for the extraction, moving forward, will remove the fired shells.
To lock the unit, the lever should be put in its original place. Mostly this happens automatically. If the lever does not move, then the arrow will have to finish it yourself. Since the gun is equipped with a mechanical safety lock, if shooting is not planned in the near future, it must be turned down. To smoothly remove a gun from a platoon, you need to open the box, remove ammunition from the chamber, and then press the triggers. After performing these steps, the receiver can be smoothly closed.
TTX
The following tactical and technical characteristics are inherent in TOZ-200:
- Refers to the type of bokflintov - guns with vertically set trunks.
- Tula gun of the 12th caliber.
- It weighs 3.6 kg.
- Trunks 75 cm long with chrome channels and constant muzzle narrowing.
- USM is represented by two triggers.
- The indicator of permissible pressure is 90 MPa.
About the merits
Judging by the reviews of the owners, the strengths of these guns are as follows:
- Since the rifle unit has a reinforced receiver and chrome-plated thickened walls, you can shoot from it with ammunition with an increased weight of shot.
- Despite the fact that the TOZ-200 has a sharp and heaped battle, you can equip it with ammunition of the Magnum class.
- Many owners claim that the gun has high ergonomic properties that allow you to shoot offhand.
- The trigger mechanism with flat single-feather springs has a high operational resource. According to the owners, if you periodically repair the hinge in the receiver and strengthen the front plate in the receiver, then you can make almost a million shots from a gun.
Mostly the gun is used by hunters. Using TOZ-200, large waterfowl are mined.
About the disadvantages
Despite the presence of undeniable strengths, the TOZ-200 has inherent weaknesses. For example, models for removable muzzle contractions are not available. The design of this boxflint does not include the installation of optics. For hunters accustomed to using optical sights, this is seen as a significant minus. Due to the strengthening of the structure, the weight of the gun is increased to 3.6 kg. Therefore, the TOZ-200 is not suitable for adherents of dynamic running hunting.
How to disassemble a bokflint?
In order for the rifle unit to last for a long time, it must be properly looked after, namely, periodically conduct cleaning. For this, the gun must first be taken apart. This is done as follows. First you need to defuse the gun. Next, disconnect the unit with the trunks: press the lever in front of the trigger guard.
Then the locking metal plate leans back. After that, the unlocking lever is turned to the right and the receiver is removed from the hinge.
