Today we will consider the topic of removing browser cache. As an example, I will use the most popular programs at the moment, namely: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera. To clear the cache in these browsers, you can use both standard tools and additional utilities.
Description
Some inexperienced users are of the opinion that there is no need to manually clear the cache. And this statement is true. Just worth clarifying some points. The cache can be formatted automatically if the browser settings have the appropriate settings. If this is not possible, then periodically you must necessarily delete the cache. If this condition is not met, the temporary storage may be full. As a result, some problems with the program may occur. For example, the browser may begin to work more slowly or even refuse to accept any information. One way or another, this is not good enough. To avoid these negative consequences, you need to clear the cache on time. This is done very quickly and easily. Next, we will move on to practice.
Firefox
To clear the Firefox cache, you need to open: “Settings” - “Log” - “Erase Recent History”. Or you can use the hotkey combination: Ctrl + Shift + Del. In the window that appears, you need to open the "Details" menu by clicking on the appropriate inscription, where you need to put a checkmark in front of the "Cache" item. You can also adjust the time to select the period for which it accumulated.
Internet explorer
To understand how to clear the cache in Explorer, I suggest that you read the following instructions:
- Open a browser, go to the “Settings” menu (gear icon).
- In the context menu, find the item “Security”, where select “Delete browsing history” (you can use hot keys: Ctrl + Shift + Del).
- In the new window, check the box “Temporary Internet files”. Click the "Delete" button.
Opera
In this browser, everything happens the same way as in the previous examples. You need to go to "Settings" - "History" (Ctrl + H) - click on the button "Clear browsing history" - in a new window put a daw in front of the item "Clear cache". You can fine tune the time for which it accumulated.
Universal remedy
It is recommended that the temporary storage be formatted once a week. And this can take a long time, especially when multiple browsers are used at once. To clear the cache in several programs at once, thereby speeding up the formatting process, you can use additional tools. Now there are many different utilities for this operation. From myself I can recommend the CCleaner program. This software has an intuitive interface. It is enough to select the desired browser and mark the necessary operation. CCleaner also provides information on the location of the cache files and its full size. Thus, you can independently monitor the status of temporary storage. You can also format the cache manually (knowing the file location directory), but this is not recommended.
Conclusion
If you notice that your browser has started to work slowly, then perhaps you just need to clear the cache. And this article will help you deal with this problem. Most often, a few minutes are enough to complete this operation.
