6 months is the default setting. To change this period, follow these steps:
- Launch a client application on a smartphone or a program on a computer;
- go to the Settings section;
- scroll to the Privacy and Security section, go into it;
- Find the item Account self-destructs;
- change the value of the parameter (available: 1 month, 3 months, six months or a year);
- save the change.
Done! If you do not use the messenger for the selected period, your account will self-destruct. Remember this if you want to save data from the Telegram, but use it less often than once in a timely manner.
