All those who work with text documents are well aware that a high-quality and well-composed text largely determines the key to its perception by the audience. It makes no difference whether you publish a post on the Internet, make an accompanying description of the presentation, or something else. Literacy immediately leads to the conclusion about the person who wrote the text part. And if this is an important letter to, say, business partners, then literacy generally comes first. In this case, checking the text, correcting errors, punctuation, spelling become what you pay attention to in the first place. How to make such a check if you are not confident in your knowledge of the language? Several methods can be proposed for this.
Checking errors in the text and correcting errors: options
First you need to decide what exactly is subject to verification in the written text. If you mean only errors, spelling and punctuation, you can use the same Word included in any office suite, or seek help from a variety of online services.
In the case of checking the uniqueness, for example, when writing text for Internet sites or when working on a dissertation, you will have to use specialized programs. You understand that plagiarism is not welcome.
Check text for punctuation (errors) using Word
But let's start with the standard methods. Checking texts for errors can be done in the most ordinary text editor Word. However, in spite of the fact that the program emphasizes or corrects words with errors automatically, if the automatic correction function is activated, it doesn’t have much punctuation.
The fact is that checking commas (there are a lot of errors of this kind in the text) using Word looks somewhat unfinished. The program often suggests placing punctuation marks, in particular the same commas, in those places where this is not stipulated by the rules of the Russian language. Noticed a blue underline? This is just evidence that the automatic verification system considers that some sign is missing (or the case of the word is not linked to the content of the sentence).
Checking texts for spelling errors is also not always up to the mark. The problem here is that many people use the input of foreign words in Russian transcription (for example, Android and Android). The check engine for such situations is not designed.
It is difficult to reproach the creators of the editor for incompetence, at least for the reason that today there is not a single automated verification system in the world that would work better than any specialist or teacher of the Russian language. But in its field, Word is the best program (it is recognized by everyone).
Finally, if you are not satisfied with the automatic checking of texts for errors, you can use the special tool by pressing the F7 key, after which a document will be scanned with a suggestion to correct words or options for replacing them with others. But when writing text through RMB, you can immediately call the thesaurus, where a synonym for the word or a suitable replacement is chosen.

It goes without saying that checking texts for errors can also be done using specialized online resources.
For example, in the Yandex Speller service, right on the site, you can simply insert or manually enter text in a special field and click the scan start button. It all works like a Word. In the same way, you can skip words unfamiliar to the system, add them to dictionaries, or use replacement options.

Before us is another well-established service. It also inserts text in a special field and checks.
Pay attention to the bottom of the resource window. There are links to download add-ons to some popular browsers. After installing the extensions, you can check them directly without visiting the system’s website.
Check for uniqueness using the tools and services Advego and Etxt
Finally, in the case when it is required to check the text for uniqueness (plagiarism), you can use two popular utilities that work on almost the same principles, but differ only in the list of resources that are accessed during the verification process and the verification methods.
Because of this, the result may be slightly different, but not so much as to affect the final result. These are Advego Plagiatus and Etxt Antiplagiarism. True, the first program checks longer, although not less efficiently.
By the way, due to the recent restriction of access to Russian sites and services in Ukraine, the check when using these programs in this region can be delayed indefinitely, and the applications themselves sometimes even freeze. In this case, in the settings you just need to turn off verification at the request of Yandex, and sometimes Rambler and QIP, which require a captcha to be entered during verification. But the result may turn out to be completely different from what it really is. But that's better than nothing. It goes without saying that for the correct functioning of these utilities, an active Internet connection must be established in the system.
In addition to using these utilities, you can refer to their online resources of the same name. There, you also need to insert the text in the field and wait until it reaches the verification queue, after which an appropriate result will be issued with underlining phrases that are the source of plagiarism.
Recommendations for using programs and services
In the end, it remains to give some tips on quality control. The first step is to use Word or a similar program. If the result does not suit you, you can turn to the free services mentioned above. Finally, to calculate the percentage of plagiarism (if you really need it), you just need to install the appropriate utilities (they take up minimum space on the hard disk).
And of course, if you have the opportunity to use any other program not from among those presented, there is nothing wrong with that, because the order indicated above cannot be considered as a dogma.
