Meeting with new people is not only an interesting, but sometimes very significant event, which can radically affect the fate of the future. However, it is known that for some people in reality it can be difficult to get in touch with a stranger, while in a dream they do it with ease, then losing their guesses about the secret meaning of what they saw. To understand the question of what the acquaintance dreams about, we turn to the opinions of the most authoritative interpreters.
The judgments of the eastern sages
Since people from time immemorial have tried to figure out what new acquaintances dream of, this topic is even raised in those works whose authorship is attributed to people who lived many centuries ago. Let us open, for example, a dream book based on the sayings of ancient Persian sages.
It can be read in it that night visions of this kind may indicate that in reality this person is too slow in making vital decisions for him, which is why he often misses the opportunities granted to him by fate. This is especially true in the case when the person with whom the dreamer meets causes him sympathy.
Old American interpreters
Continuing the excursion into the past, we turn to the dream book, the authors of which, judging by its name, are the ancient Incas, in the period of the XI-XVI centuries. created a powerful empire on the American continent. He is curious in that it provides a rather lengthy explanation of what dreams of getting to know a guy.
Note that for dreamers of both sexes in its interpretation there are many similarities. For example, for both a young man and a girl, such a story may indicate the need to seek support among loved ones. The reason for this need and who should be addressed depends on the circumstances of each particular case, while interpreters are limited in this regard only to general instructions.
Dating women and girls
Ancient American connoisseurs give a separate recommendation to young girls who are given night visions by meeting and meeting young people. For them, such stories symbolize the inner desire to learn something new and previously unknown. However, the sages advise them not to get too carried away with discoveries, not to lose their heads and to listen to my mother's advice, because excessive curiosity sometimes ends with tears.
They do not disregard another extremely important question - why dream of getting to know a woman who is already mature and has managed to get a well-known life experience. Their ancient Incas warn against excessive euphoria associated with what they saw in a dream. In their opinion, a woman is on the verge of a certain adventure, very attractive for her, but fraught with the most harmful consequences. Without giving any specific recommendations, the interpreters only strongly advise her to think carefully before embarking on "all the grave".
What is the dream of meeting a girl?
Especially for young men, interpretations of night visions are given in dream books in which they meet young girls. Despite the attractiveness of such stories, their interpretation by various authors is sometimes very contradictory. The most pessimistic interpreters tend to see in them a warning that in real life these guys show excessive credulity, which can cause great trouble.
This point of view was completely shared by a well-known in the past interpreter of dreams - American psychiatrist Gustav Miller. In the compilation of his dream book, one can find an indication that such a dream is sometimes an omen of the imminent failure of some important matter, which at first was not particularly difficult. The reason for the failure lies in the dreamer's excessive credulity. However, the scientist further states that such a story may not have a connection with real events, but only be a reflection of the processes taking place during puberty of a young man.
Why dream of getting to know your future mother-in-law?
The above interpretations of dreams, which featured purely abstract characters that are not directly related to real people. But it also happens that in night visions there is a person who actually exists and is of particular interest to the dreamer. This may be the employer, who will soon have to go for an interview, or, even more serious, the future mother-in-law. Experiences about such meetings may well form the basis of night visions, and therefore their interpretation is often of interest.
Letโs find out, for example, what dreams about getting to know the mother of the bride. Indications on this score can be found in many authors, and they, as always, are extremely contradictory. So, the aforementioned Mr. Miller makes the interpretation of the plot dependent on the impression that the future mother-in-law made on her potential son-in-law. If she seemed to him a benevolent and pretty woman, then there is every reason to believe that in real life there will be no conflicts with her. Otherwise, the young man can only reassure himself that "nothing lasts forever under the moon."
Pre-Wedding Dreams of Brides
Further, the author explains to young girls - future brides - why dream about getting to know the parents of a guy who should one day become their legal husband. In this case, the overseas interpreter shows extraordinary optimism and encourages his readers that such a dream can undoubtedly serve as a sign of an imminent wedding, and in the future, a happy development of family life.
However, continuing the conversation about what dreams of getting to know the parents of the groom, the author makes one small reservation. It consists in the fact that for a more complete interpretation of sleep, the place where the acquaintance of the girl with the parents of her fiancรฉ took place is of certain importance.
If this happened at their place or at her place, then there is no cause for concern. However, a meeting that took place somewhere on the street - in a park, park or just in the middle of the sidewalk - may mean that the girl is too persistent in her desire to get a loved one and can push him away inadvertently. Warning of the possible consequences of excessive zeal, the author at the same time does not seek to destroy girlish hopes.
Opinion of the Bulgarian soothsayer
Many well-known commentators wrote about why they dreamed about getting to know the parents of the bride or groom. For example, the Bulgarian soothsayer Vanga, covering this topic, attached great importance to whether the meeting was spontaneous or planned in advance.
In the first case, she saw an omen of future warm and cordial relations in the family. They should have been especially vivid if none of the future relatives at that time knew about each other's existence. However, a pre-planned meeting seen in a dream may be a sign that you should be extremely careful with your future relatives and choose your words carefully in the conversation.
Judgment of Mr. Freud
A conversation about what the acquaintance dreams about would be incomplete without taking into account the opinion of such a famous interpreter of night dreams, as the Austrian psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud (photo below). In his essay, he writes that dreams of this kind testify to the excessive shyness and constraint inherent in this person in real life. Although the author does not attribute these character traits to the number of vices, he points to a number of difficulties to which they can serve as a cause.

For example, a person who, in a dream, willingly makes contact with strangers, in reality often shows extreme shyness, which prevents him from making new acquaintances and is a serious obstacle in his personal life. Such a dreamer should thoroughly analyze his attitude towards others and try to remove obstacles in the way of communication with them. Shyness in itself is not a disadvantage and sometimes gives a person some mystery and even piquancy, but, as you know, everything is good in moderation.
Two very intriguing dream options
In his popular dream book, the Austrian psychoanalyst also addresses the question of what it means in a dream a second acquaintance with a person who was once a dreamer's sexual partner, but who later irrevocably passed away from his life. Such a plot, according to the author, can only testify to his subconscious desire to restore the old relationship, which, for a number of objective reasons, is impossible.

He also considers a certain variation of the aforementioned plot, which differs from it only in that a family man in a dream meets again not with his former mistress (or lover), but with his current legal half. In this case, the author seems to be the most likely explanation for the excessive concentration of the dreamer on his own needs and the lack of attention to his partner. This is a very alarming signal, often preceding the complication of family relationships, and sometimes their complete breakdown. It is necessary with all impartiality to analyze all aspects of their relations and try to find a way out of this situation.
The third is always superfluous
Further developing the topic that was begun, Sigmund Freud gives in his work another plot of night visions, which contains a prediction of the danger to family life. So, analyzing the question of why the acquaintance with an extraneous man was dreamed up in the presence of his own wife, he writes that this virtual character may be a prototype of a real person who is destined to invade the dreamer's personal life and destroy his family happiness. This fully applies to dreams in which women in the presence of their husbands get acquainted with certain ladies, although pleasant in all respects, but clearly representing a threat to their family hearth.

Such dreams, which are a kind of warning about the possibility of future betrayal, should not overshadow family life with excessive suspicion. They should be seen primarily as a call for the spouses to take a closer look at themselves and try not to bring their relationship to the point beyond which the fatal need for someone else is indicated.
