The Youth Theater (Vladivostok) today has a rich past. This is one of the old theaters of the city, which is located in its very center. A little history, or How it all began
The Youth Theater (Vladivostok) is the first children's theater that opened before the Great Patriotic War in 1930. In theory, children should have done everything here: from various interesting decorations to sewing costumes and, of course, directly participating in performances.
However, the war and various circumstances forced to postpone everything. And only in 1946 the Theater of the Young Spectator was organized . And the first performance - “How Steel Was Tempered” - was played right before the New Year, December 31.
Over the seventy years of its history, the theater has changed its name several times. The older generation remembers it as the Theater of the Young Spectator; to middle-aged people, it is familiar as the Chamber Drama Theater. And from 1999 until today, it has been called the Youth Theater (Vladivostok).
Over the years, more than five hundred performances have been staged here. Youth Theater (Vladivostok) highly values ​​the state. Honored artists and honored workers of culture work there, twenty theater employees were awarded the title of “People's Artist”. The troupe also constantly participates in various competitions of the federal and world scale, where it constantly hones its skills.

From the past to the future
The Youth Theater (Vladivostok) at first did not have a permanent place. But this was a temporary problem, and soon - in 1954, the theater received its permanent residence permit on 15-a Svetlanskaya Street.
The theater building, which was built in 1876, is considered a historical monument. The facade, of course, was reconstructed, the work lasted 7 years. They were so large-scale that not only workers took part in them, but also theater actors, students and just young people who wanted to have their own theater in the city center.
The first performance was delivered by graduates of the M. Gorky studio. It was a special and exciting moment for young actors who were in love with the theater and their profession. Naturally, time passed, and he began to replenish with actors coming from different parts of the country. Life was seething here. In the first decade alone, the Youth Theater (Vladivostok), or rather its troupe, staged over 80 performances.

Since then, much water has flowed, and now, in the 21st century, a completely new approach is needed. That is why the theater has updated its directorial staff, and today you can already see many young and talented directors who brought variety and novelty with them. The people accepted this with enthusiasm, so today everyone can find something to their liking, despite their age. Therefore, we can safely say that the Youth Theater (Vladivostok), whose poster is constantly updated, is new and modern.
This is confirmed by the fact that in 2016 a new (small) stage was opened in the theater.
Most interestingly, over the years of its existence, not only domestic directors, actors and artists worked here, but also specialists from other countries, such as Japan, South Korea, Poland, and the USA.
The tour was held almost all over the world, which made the theater even more widespread and spread its fame far beyond the Far East.
A bit about the performances
Everyone knows that the quality of the theater largely depends on the directors. After all, it is they who decide which performances to stage, what issues and problems to raise in these representations. And since young and courageous directors work in the theater, one can see performances in the repertoire that raise such acute problems as the adaptation of a teenager in the current harsh environment, difficulties in relationships between children and adults, and many other psychological and important issues.
