V.P. Astafyev is one of the most interesting representatives of Russian Soviet literature. It was not for nothing that they called it the measure of conscience and morality of our modernity.

History of creation
It is no accident that Astafyev called Vasyutkino Lake his story. Indeed, not every hero, especially if he is a little boy, will be awarded such a high honor. But Vasyutka deserved it! The work has a pronounced autobiographical character. It grew out of a small school essay, in which then the student Astafyev spoke about the adventure that happened to him. After all, being a seven-year-old child, he often went fishing with his father for an artel. And indeed, he knew a lot about the taiga, its character, tricks and habits from grandfather and grandmother, father. Therefore, this case did not forget Astafyev. “Vasyutkino Lake” from a student’s work grew into an interesting story about how, in the most unforeseen situations, one should preserve the presence of spirit.
Why did the boy manage to escape, and even open an amazing corner of the forest? Because he did not forget the lessons taught to him by his elders, did not fall into fear and despondency, and read the "secret book of the taiga." Astafyev “Vasyutkino Lake” also wrote: to tell people about the pristine beauty of their native places, about the kindness and wisdom of nature, its strict justice to people.
The main idea of the work
Recalling and considering his childhood through the eyes of an adult, wise man’s experience, the writer wanted to talk about the lake so that the souls of readers would be in awe so that they could vividly and vividly imagine him and the wonderful meadow in the forest. Just as an artist creates accurate, brilliant strokes, Astafyev Vasyutkino Lake describes with masterfully selected words. He saw his writing task as follows: to make it clear to readers that “there is a beautiful world” around them and that they themselves also “exist in this world”. After all, we all come into adulthood from childhood. And Viktor Petrovich believes: it is good that in our destiny there are such “lakes” - guiding stars that help us understand ourselves, purify ourselves, and become aware of simple, but infinitely important worldly truths. Nature and man in the story
Astafiev brought out two main characters in his work. "Vasyutkino Lake", the content of which we are considering is a
story about nature. And nature is not the background or theatrical scenery. This is a special world that lives by its own laws. And he checks the true
essence of people, determines who is capable of what. Nature forces Vasyutka to pass the tests, as a result of which he was tempered, became stronger and more humane. It is nature that enables the boy to better appreciate the love and care of his mother, family, relatives. It scares, confuses, threatens, but also prompts, opens the curtains. The main thing is to see, notice, understand, and for this not only eyes and hearing, but also the heart should be vigilant and sensitive. So says Victor Petrovich Astafiev.
