Now, amid the decreasing cost of sites for hosting sites, almost every second owner of a computer connected to the global network is thinking about their own Internet page. What is it for? Some decide to make money in this way, others decide to assert themselves (on the principle of "why am I worse ?!"), while others pursue different goals.
Of course, you can quickly create your site using the online designer and place it for free on the same hosting provided (they can be easily found through the corresponding request in search engines). In this case, a person (the future web master) needs only a little free time to study the mechanisms of the designer and fill the created pages with useful information. But due to some limitations of such solutions (inconvenient for making money, relatively slow server operation, third-party advertising), many begin to create a full-fledged website (or a blog, in this context this is not so important).
Obviously, it’s much more logical to pre-prepare everything on your computer and only after that upload the data to the server. That is, to use a certain “draft”, and not write immediately in the main “notebook”. And there really is such a solution. It is enough to install a special program on the computer that emulates some basic functions of a distant server of the hosting provider and prepare its own resource, as if it was already posted on the Web. One of the most famous of these programs is Denver. It is clear that on the forums, newcomers are asked a question about how to remove Denwer.
During its work, the program creates a virtual disk (connects the directory as an independent disk). With minimal knowledge in this area, you can easily solve all the questions that arise and you do not have to additionally figure out how to remove Denver. But many users choose the path of trial and error, deciding to create a site without possessing the necessary knowledge. Perhaps in some ways they are right, since this makes it possible to focus on a specific problem, rather than “spraying”, studying everything. That is why the question of how to remove Denwer is so relevant. How to solve it?
When uninstalling Denver from a computer, you will need the following:
- disconnect the virtual disk ;
- remove the local server itself (Denver);
- clean the system from traces of the program.
When removing Denver, it is recommended not to reinvent the wheel, but to use the mechanisms provided. So, first you need to interrupt the program. To do this, go to the “WebServers” folder (this is the default directory) and in “Denwer” run the stop.exe files (the stop servers icon) and SwitchOff.exe. If everything is done correctly, then there are no difficulties with how to remove Denwer. After stopping, you can simply erase the WebServers directory and related icons from the desktop.
If the deletion is incorrect, you need to manually remove the launch lines from the operating system configuration file. Press Win + R, type msconfig and go to the "Startup" section. In the list, look for the lines of Create Virtual Drive and remove the checkmarks from them. We check the file "Windows \ system32 \ drivers \ etc \ hosts" - there should not be extra lines in it (a description of the structure is easy to find on the Web). It remains to restart the computer.
To remove a virtual disk from the operating system, you can use the subst command. Her syntax is “subst Y: / D”, where “Y” is the letter of the added drive. We press Win + R and in the appeared line we enter a command (without inverted commas).
Usually, there are no difficulties with how to remove Denwer. Especially if you do everything thoughtfully and without haste. Denver is a fairly well-thought-out software product, with a very friendly user interaction mechanism. For any possible problems you should not panic by pressing all the buttons. Typically, the solution is hidden behind just two clicks of the mouse (by the way, this is true for most of all other programs).
