Cape Town International Airport is South Africa's second largest airport serving travelers from all over the world. It was modernized and reconstructed in 2010. Today it is considered one of the best in Africa.

Terminals
There are two terminals at the airport - international and domestic, connected by a large central terminal building. The distance between them is easy to walk. There is also a common check-in area, so connecting flights are carried out without any problems.
Availability
Cape Town Airport has good facilities for people with disabilities. There are travelators and smooth slopes, passenger elevators to all levels and the availability of shops, restaurants and viewing platforms for wheelchairs. If you need help, you must contact the airport 48 hours before arrival.
Airport facilities
- Information center for visitors. For any information about your stay in Cape Town, you can contact the Visitor Information Center in the central terminal.
- Money. ATMs are available at all terminals. Currency exchange kiosks are located in the baggage claim area upon arrival in the country, on both sides of the security check at the international terminal and at the central terminal. There are also bank branches.
- Shopping A duty free shop (Duty Free) is available at the international terminal. A number of other stores are located throughout the airport, where you can buy clothes, jewelry, crafts, souvenirs and much more.
- Food and drinks. There are many fast food outlets and several restaurants where you can sit, as well as several bars. The open-air bar in the indoor terminal has a smoking area.
At Cape Town Airport you can also find a pharmacy, post office, prayer room, police station, nail salon, waiting rooms, including for smokers, in both terminals.
Transport accessibility
How to get from Cape Town Airport to the city? There are many transportation options at Cape Town International Airport. Most large car rental companies have representative offices here. They can be easily found near the central terminal.
You can also use the MyCiTi bus, which runs daily from 5:30 to 21:30 between the airport and the city center, where you can catch buses that follow other routes. Public transport in Cape Town is safe and secure. For a trip, tourists will need a myconnect card, which costs 170 rubles (35 rand). It is available at the airport and at other MyCiTi stations. Tariffs for a trip to the city are within 290 rubles (60 rand) and 484 rubles (100 rand) depending on the time at which you must travel.
Many hotels also offer transfers: private buses, ready to pick up tourists from the airport and take them back when necessary. You should arrange this with the hotel in advance.
There is also a taxi at the airport. You must select a registered taxi and make sure that the meter is turned on before the trip. A trip to the city center will cost from 1,450 rubles (300 rand) to 1,900 rubles (400 rand), although the fee may vary. Some taxis have fixed rates, while others charge a kilometer, but in any case, you need to agree in advance on what the fee will be.
If you use Uber, you should pay attention that there are two access points. One is located outside the check-in area at the top, and the other is in the drop-off area in the short-term parking lot.
Parking
Cape Town Airport has many parking spots, both long and short. In the parking lot the first 30 minutes are free.
