How to remove hyperlinks throughout the document in Word and Excel: instructions

If you did not change the settings in Microsoft office programs, when copying or writing text that contains links to Internet sites, hyperlinks appear that can redirect the user directly from the document to the specified site. Delete hyperlinks through the context menu in Word

The first thing we’ll talk about is how to remove hyperlinks throughout the Word document. The first method presented will be applied using the option from the context menu called by the right mouse button (RMB). It should be said right away that this method is well suited if there are not very many links in the document, since you will have to deal with each of them separately. So, let's say that you have a document open in which there are hyperlinks. To remove them, you need to do the following:

1. Hover over the link.
2. Click RMB to open the context menu.
3. In the context menu, select the option "Delete hyperlink".

Delete Hyperlinks Using Hot Keys in Word

So, to remove hyperlinks with hot keys, you need to:

1. Select the part of the text that contains hyperlinks. If you want to delete all links, then to select all the text it is easier to use the key combination CTRL + A.
2. Press SHIFT + F9.

After performing these simple two steps, absolutely all links in the text will disappear. This method is good in that the formatting of the text does not change in any way after its application.

Insert text without hyperlinks

You already know two ways to remove hyperlinks in the entire Word document, however there is one interesting way that eliminates their formation when copying text from any sources. By the way, the instructions are common for both Word and Excel.

So, to insert text with links in the document so that they do not turn into hyperlinks, you need to:

1. Put the desired text on the clipboard. To do this, select the text and in the context menu that is called up by RMB, select "Copy" and you can also press CTRL + C.
2. Open a document.
3. Click RMB on the sheet or in the desired cell.
4. From the context menu, select the option "Save only text", which is located in the group of options "Insert Parameters".

After that, the text is inserted into the document, and all hyperlinks disappear. But this method has one drawback: the initial formatting of the text will disappear. However, if in the future you planned to change it yourself, it is perfect.

Delete all hyperlinks in Excel

Finally, let's talk about how to remove hyperlinks throughout an Excel document. And this is done as simple as possible. You need:

1. Select the cells in which you want to remove hyperlinks (you can also use the CTRL + A keys if you want to select the entire document).
2. Click RMB on one of the selected cells.
3. In the context menu, select the "Delete hyperlinks" item.
