Drama Theater (Saratov) has existed since the beginning of the 19th century. Many great actors worked on his stage. The repertoire consists of both productions of classical works and performances based on plays by contemporary Russian and foreign authors.
Theater History

The Slonov Drama Theater (Saratov) was founded in 1803. The second half of the 19th century was marked by the fact that this city began to be considered the cultural as well as the theater capital of the Volga region. Such great actors worked on the stage of the Saratov State Academic Drama Theater: K.A. Varlamov, P.A. Strepetova, V.F. Komissarzhevskaya, M.G. Savina, A.P. Lensky, V.I. Kachalov, V.N. Davydov and many others. For many years his repertoire included productions exclusively based on plays by foreign and Russian classics. The theater since 2003 bears the name of Ivan Slonov. This man was the founder of the Saratov theater school. Festival named after O. Yankovsky
Since 2011, the Drama Theater (Saratov) has been holding a festival named after the outstanding actor Oleg Yankovsky. It includes conferences, meetings with prominent figures of art and culture, book presentations, anniversary evenings, premieres of documentaries, screenings of performances, and the opening of various exhibitions. Special guests of the festival at different times were: Konstantin Raikin, Alexey Kravchenko, Inna Churikova, Philip and Rostislav Yankovsky, E. Mironov, A. Sbruev, Maxim Matveev, Victor Verzhbitsky, Marina Zudina and others.
