Begishevo is an airport in the east of the Republic of Tatarstan. Its main task is to service the Naberezhnye Chelny city agglomeration, which it has been performing for more than 40 years.
History and background
28 km from Naberezhnye Chelny is Begishevo (airport). The nearest town, Nizhnekamsk, is 19 km away.
The air transport hub was built in the Soviet period - in 1971. The first flights began in December 1971. In the post-Soviet period, in 1998, the airport was granted international status by decision of the government.
The owner of the enterprise at the moment is the Kama Automobile Plant (KamAZ). Since 2011, large-scale work began on the reconstruction of the airport and airfield complexes in order to obtain a new category C.
Begishevo has one lane built of asphalt concrete, the dimensions of which are 2.506 km long and 45 m wide, as well as a system of three taxiways.
