How to remove Kaspersky

Owners of personal computers that cannot imagine their life without the Internet are very well aware that it is quite dangerous to browse the pages of a global network without an integrated anti-virus protection system. Many of those who ignored this rule have already encountered malware actions: it’s enough to recall the epidemic of blocking viruses that require sending SMS.

There is a lot to choose from - there are commercial Doctor Web, Kaspersky, Avira, etc. There are good free solutions. Among them, Kaspersky Anti-Virus is worth noting: in addition to the fact that the program provides 30 days of test full-time use (and beta versions - all 90 days), its effectiveness is one of the highest.

But sometimes it becomes necessary to completely remove Kaspersky. The reasons can be very different: for example, switching to another solution, deleting a product after the key has expired, recovering from a failure, etc.

Surprisingly, the simple question of “how to completely remove Kaspersky” is often too complicated for some users. Usually, the task is solved simply. Let's consider the ways to remove Kaspersky, in order to increase the complexity of the necessary actions.

Any program written in accordance with the requirements of the Windows system, during installation, necessarily creates a link to the uninstaller in the corresponding group of the "Start" button and in the menu for adding and removing programs from the control panel. The easiest and most correct way to remove Kaspersky is to use this provided feature. First of all, you need to exit the user shell of the anti-virus program, for this, on the red Kaspersky icon (next to the clock), click the right mouse button and select “exit”. We open the Start menu and in the Kaspersky group (the exact name depends on the type of product), select “delete Kaspersky”. If the reinstallation is not planned, then you do not need to save any files (this question will be asked during the uninstall wizard). In the end, you should agree to restart the computer.

The same removal mechanism is used for alternative ways to launch the wizard: we launch the “Control Panel” through “Start”, open the “Programs and Features” icon and look for “Kaspersky” in the list (“delete” link).

When you restart the installation, you will be prompted to uninstall the product.

Sometimes it’s not easy to understand how to remove “Kaspersky": it doesn’t get deleted! In this case, it is recommended not to “reinvent the wheel”, but to download a special program, kavremover, from the Kaspersky Lab official website. Even a school student can figure out how to remove Kaspersky with it.

We start kavremover, we type in the proposed digital confirmation code (in case of problems with recognition it can be updated by clicking the arrow icon next to it). Using the bottom drop-down menu we indicate the name of the installed software product - the list is quite wide and even includes antivirus version 6. It is important to know that kavremover copes with the removal of modern programs from Kaspersky Lab that are not included in the list. For example, to remove from the KIS or Crystal system, it is enough to specify the line “delete all known products” in the cavermover. While this method works. Scanning the system will take several minutes, depending on the speed of the computer. Then you need to reboot.

There is also a more cardinal way to remove Kaspersky - manually. It involves removing the appropriate program files, stopping services, and cleaning the registry. We boot into crash protection mode, delete the Kaspersky directory in program files, stop the AWP service (device manager - show hidden devices), scan the registry with CCleaner. More information about this method can be found on the forums.
