Vladimir Georgievich Zhdanov is known as a sober lifestyle promoter and teacher of the non-medical method of getting rid of bad habits. To the latter, in addition to drinking alcohol and smoking, Vladimir Georgievich also considers the habit of wearing glasses. According to Professor Zhdanov, restoration of vision with myopia, farsightedness, astigmatism, strabismus, the initial stages of glaucoma and clouding of the lens depends solely on our desire to work on the problem. Theory: Helmholtz and Bates
To restore visual impairment was made possible thanks to the American ophthalmologist William G. Bates.
It was he who first drew the attention of the medical community to the discrepancy between practical facts and the official Helmholtz theory of vision, developed his own methodology and received the first positive results after conducting classes with his patients, and then with children in schools.
Bates associates refractive errors with tension or a weakening of the six muscles of the eyeball, and not with the lens and ciliary muscle.
It is Bates’s theory that Zhdanov applies in his classes. Vladimir Georgievich experienced the restoration of vision on his own experience when he came to the courses of Igor Nikolayevich Afonin in Cherepovets. Later, I.N. Afonin and V. Travinka published the book How Beautiful This World Looks, about the Shichko-Bates method.
Having supplemented this methodology, V. G. Zhdanov today distributed it all over the world, conducting lecture and lesson courses and connecting numerous colleagues and teachers to this business. Vladimir Georgievich constantly emphasizes that his methodology is not medical, but pedagogical. The purpose of the classes is to teach people the right habits of vision and exercises aimed at its restoration.
Why official medicine does not practice the Bates method
As Professor Zhdanov states in his lectures, restoration of vision is unprofitable for modern medicine. Corporate income from the sale of glasses, contact lenses, care products, eye operations associated with refractive visual impairments and the like is about $ 50 billion. The second reason is the inertness of domestic medicine. W. Bates published the main works in 1912–1921, and the Helmholtz theory is still considered to be the only true one in medical universities, and on the basis of this, future ophthalmologists are trained.
And the last reason why Shichko-Bates's method of restoring vision is not known to wide circles and has not entered firmly into the practice of treating eye diseases is ordinary laziness. To get a positive result, you need to exercise daily and cultivate a habit of healthy vision.
About Shichko Method
Gennady Andreyevich Shichko lived in Leningrad and developed his method of psychoanalysis back in those days when the word itself was considered abusive. As a result, the method of gartonomic desalcoholism was born. Shichko began to conduct classes, helping people get rid of alcohol, nicotine and drug addiction. Around this outstanding man a kind of club was formed, called the "Optimist". Nowadays, the movement has become widespread. The three golden commandments of G. A. Shichko became the club's motto. They read:
- Hurry to do good.
- I got out myself - help another.
- If not me, then who?
Many psychological techniques from the Shichko method are used in their classes by V. G. Zhdanov. Restoring vision becomes a side effect of changing attitudes toward oneself and the world around.
What is the danger of poor eyesight and what damage do glasses
In the lecture series "Restoring Vision by Zhdanov's Method", it is noted that poor eyesight is dangerous to health for the following reasons.
- With myopia, the eye has an elongated shape. The retina is in a tense position, and the greater the degree of myopia, the greater the likelihood of retinal detachment during physical exertion. For this reason, children with myopia are not taken to sports sections, and women with visual acuity -7 should not be given birth in a natural way.
- With poor eyesight, the muscles of the eyeball are tense and worse supplied with blood. The blood circulation of all eye structures is impaired, hence the occurrence of many diseases, primarily glaucoma and cataracts.
Glasses harm any eye.
- When wearing glasses, the eyeball is almost motionless, because in order to examine an object a person turns his head. Muscles weaken with all the ensuing consequences.
- Disruption of eye refraction is inconsistent, especially in children. They change during the day, from fatigue, psychological attitude, the subject that a person is looking at, and so on. Wearing glasses, we deprive the eye of the opportunity to return to an optimal state. As a result, visual impairment progresses and the patient needs lenses with large diopters.
Eye exercises
According to Professor Zhdanov, restoration of vision is possible at any age. Academician F.G. Uglov cites an example, who in three weeks got rid of hyperopia after 50 years of wearing glasses. Zhdanov’s restoration of vision is not only a set of exercises, but also daily eye care, even after recovery.
Eye hygiene according to Zhdanov
Healthy eye care comes down to three rules.
- Tired - take a rest! If your eyes get tired, break off and palming for 5 minutes.
- Perform gymnastics for the eye muscles three times a day before meals.
- Never wear glasses or lenses. Glasses are eye shackles. Use sunglasses only in extreme cases. Remember that light is food for the visual apparatus.
To improve vision
According to Zhdanov, vision restoration is based on two methods: relaxation and strengthening of the eye muscles. There are also exercises that allow the eye to “get enough” of light.
- Palming. You can literally translate it from English as “frightening”. Close your eyes with your palms so that your eyelids can move freely under them. The palms themselves cross in the area of the fingers and form an inverted “V”. Palming at the beginning and at the end of each lesson, as well as as your eyes become tired. Time is unlimited, but the longer the better. At least 5 minutes.
- Gymnastics for the eyes. 8-10 times move your eyes in the directions: up-down, right-left, draw a square, figure eight and a circle in both directions. After gymnastics, blink easily, relieving tension.
- Twists and turns. Performed by the window or with a candle. Stand straight, feet shoulder width apart. Look in front of you as if into the distance. Turn right and left, gently, slightly lifting the heel off the floor. Note that a candle or window floats past you. Eyes relaxed, look straight ahead. Do 30-50 times.
- Candle exercise: turns only the head or the whole body, as described above. As Zhdanov notes, lectures on restoration of vision demonstrate an improvement in visual acuity in the dark after exercises with a candle.
- Solarization: sun treatment. Stand in the sun (you can’t do the exercise at noon when the sun is too bright), close your eyes and make turns 20-30 times. Then close one eye with your palm, open the other and look down. So perform 20-30 turns, then change the eyes, then open both eyes. The last turns are carried out, looking directly in front of you, your face is exposed to the sun. At the same time, they blink quickly, one eye is closed with a palm. As you get used to the eyes of the sun perform with both eyes. There should not be any discomfort, at first it is better to perform exercises at dawn or at sunset. In the absence of sun, eye polarization can be performed on a candle or lamp.
- Remembering as an aid to vision: during palming, revive some pleasant memory. Also useful is the representation of black, such as black velvet.
- Central fixation. The normal eye clearly sees only a point in the center of the field of view. An unhealthy eye tries to see the whole field equally clearly, hence the tension arises. To relax the eyes, perform an exercise on the awareness of central fixation. Work with a checklist. First, they fix their eyes on the wall, then they take them away, relax with a blink. Again they fix the gaze, already on the table, then again they take it away. Then they are fixed on a line, then on a word, then on a separate letter, then on any part of this letter. Every time they try to notice that the point of fixation of the gaze is visible better than the area around it.
According to Vladimir Zhdanov, the restoration of vision can be accelerated using "pirate" glasses. Take ordinary glasses, remove glasses and put a protective "screen" in one eye. In such glasses, for example, you can watch TV for 10-15 minutes with each eye.
General recovery
Zhdanov’s vision restoration technique implies a general improvement of the body. In his lectures, Vladimir Georgievich draws attention to the following aspects.
- Getting rid of alcohol and tobacco addiction.
- Cleansing the body through complete starvation, observing Orthodox fasts (according to the method of Porfiry Ivanov).
- Finding peace of mind. Particular attention is paid to the seven deadly sins and the upbringing of virtues opposite to them.
If you wear glasses, Zhdanov’s vision restoration technique will help get rid of them forever. If you do not experience eye problems, the simple exercises outlined in the first lecture will allow you to enjoy this state of affairs to a very old age.
