The attractive appearance and streamlined shape of the cab allowed not only to improve the aerodynamic properties of the car, but also significantly increase driver comfort inside the tractor, because now the cab height is almost two meters (192 centimeter). In addition, all 5490 tractor units manufactured under the KAMAZ brand will initially be equipped with two berths, which will allow both drivers to rest in the parking lot. At the same time, it is worth noting the comfort of moving around the cab, which was impossible to imagine in other tractors of Kama production, often equipped with an excessively low cab.

As you know, KAMAZ trucks were often scolded by many drivers because of the lack of comfortable seats in the cab. Now in the model 5490, the developers have embodied all the wishes of the owners, regarding mainly comfort. For the first time, this truck tractor has pneumatic seats with height and backrest adjustment, a cruise control system and even built-in air conditioning, which was an unattainable dream for KAMAZ truck drivers. Separately, it is worth noting the new technical indicators of the truck. The novelty will be equipped with a modern Mercedes-Benz engine with a capacity of 428 horsepower. According to the developers, both engines will have an increased service life, which is about 1 million kilometers (this is about 10 years of saturated use). For comparison: the older KAMAZ tractors had an engine with an operating period of not more than 300 thousand kilometers, after which the motor required major repairs. Thanks to such technical characteristics, a car with an equipped weight of 8 tons can pull a trailer with a maximum load of up to 44 tons.
About cost
According to the manufacturer, the cost of a new tractor truck model 5490 will be about 2 million 500 thousand rubles. This is about 15-20 percent lower than the cost of foreign trunk tractors of the DAF, VOLVO, SCANIA, RENO brands and so on.
