Medvedkovskaya organized crime group arose in Moscow. In 1993-94 of the last century, she became part of a larger gang. The name refers to one of the districts of the capital in which the training of members of the formation took place.
Criminal Russia: Medvedkovskaya organized crime group
In the early 90's. a fairly large gang formation arose. His leader was Sergei Timofeev (Sylvester). At that time, fierce competition was established between gangs for subordinate areas. Eliminate competitors allowed the rather brutal measures that Sergei Timofeev used. Sylvester quickly subjugated the smaller formations.
Competitor Elimination
September 13, 1994 in the evening on the 3rd Tverskaya-Yamskaya near house number 46, a car was blown up, in which Sylvester was located. After the event, Grigory Gusyatinsky (Grinya) began to claim the role of leader. In January of the 95th Sherstobitov (Lesha the soldier) in collusion with Oleg Pylev eliminates it. In the next, 96th, Ananievsky (Kultik) dies. He was shot by Pavel Zelenin. Ananievsky was the right hand of Sylvester, who, after the death of the latter, stood at the helm of the gang. After his assassination, the Dragon becomes the leader (Sergey Volodin). However, after a few months, he also dies. The Dragon was buried in the Khovansky cemetery, near Ananyevsky, where almost all the leaders of the Medvedkovskaya organized crime group were buried. She and the rest of the subordinate small gangs began to be led by Osya (Butorin).
Dust Brothers
Oleg and Andrey recognized the indirect subordination to Osa. The first was responsible for all power operations. He ensured control of the gang, counterintelligence, carried out punitive measures. Andrey gravitated more towards the world of business. In his activity, he sought to establish control over this area. He did it from Spain. Under the control of the Pylevs, there were car services, gas stations, restaurants, cafes, as well as the Prague, Pokrovsky, Mitinsky and Tushinsky markets. In addition, they had their own travel agency. Through it, militants issued passports. The Pylev brothers also held a nightclub and law office.
Butorintsy
In 1995, in the summer, Alexander Bijamo was shot almost opposite the city hall. He was the head of the "Assyrian" brigade. As the investigation established, he was killed behind the monument to Dolgoruky. The killer’s gun, gloves and jacket were thrown out in the courtyard of house No. 25-a, located on Bolshaya Dmitrovka, where the building of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation stands. This murder, like many others, was committed by special forces Pustovalov (Sasha soldier). Further, the “Butorintsy” removed the leaders of the Kuntsevo group Skvortsov and Kuligin, the falconry authority Kutepov. During the month during the war with the Izmailovsky gang, they shot more than 10 of its members and leaders. Butorin, feeling that the hunt had begun, staged his funeral in the 96th year at the Nikolo-Arkhangelskoye cemetery, and went into the shadows for a while.
Murder in a Greek villa
In 1997, Solonik Alexander was in Greece. The original plan was to eliminate the entire top of the Kurgan gang. She became unnecessary after the murder of Sylvester. It was also supposed to remove Ignatov, Nelyubin, Koligov. But in Greece there was only Solonik. Alexander did not know that the villa in which he was located was equipped with listening devices. The equipment was installed by the Sherstobitov team. The fate of Solonik was resolved when he uttered the words: "It is necessary to bring them down." By "them," he meant Butorin and the Dust brothers. Together with Solonik, Svetlana Kotova, his 22-year-old cohabitant, Miss Russia-96, was killed. Her body was found dismembered in a suitcase, buried in the ground. Solonik himself was strangled. As for Koligov, Nelyubin and Ignatov, the first two died in prison in 2005 and 1998, respectively, under strange circumstances, and the third is still on the wanted list.
Investigation
Orekhovo-Medvedkovskaya organized crime group continued its active operations until 1998. A large-scale investigation began this year. The impetus for the start of action was the murder of Yuri Kezer. This investigator for the first time in the Russian Federation opened a case under Art. 210 of the Criminal Code - the formation of a criminal organization. Butorin's gang was quite closely associated with Odintsovo militants. The latter was led by Belok (Belkin). At one time, a criminal case was brought against him by Yuri Kezer. He was then a senior investigator of the 2nd Office of the Prosecutor in Odintsovo. The episode, which is associated with the killing of Kezer, was the beginning of the end of the activities carried out by the killers of the Medvedkovskaya gang. Detectives MUR stubbornly followed in the footsteps and in 2000, Butorin was put on the wanted list. Gang members had to immediately flee to Spain. The exact number of crimes committed by the Medvedkovskaya organized crime group has not been established to date. The investigation uncovered 44 murders, found and seized a large number of weapons. According to investigators, the gang consisted of about 60 people.
Sentences
In 2004, the Moscow City Court held a hearing on the investigated cases. By that time, in fact, the Medvedkovskaya organized criminal group ceased to exist. There were 13 people in the dock. Pustovalov, one of the accused, confessed to the murder of Solonik and Kotova. After a while, another process went through. At it, the court sentenced 11 participants. They were assigned various terms - from 4 to 23 years. Among the convicts was Andrei Pylev. At the beginning of 2000, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office completed an investigation into the case of the Chernakov (Double) team. Then 13 people were convicted. Among them were Baranchikov Dmitry (Hurricane), Ertuganov Ruslan Rus), Makovets Victor (Makar), Loginov Vadim (Ochkarik), Kudryavtsev Mikhail (Berloga), Romashkin Alexander (Romakh), Lebenkov Denis (Dan), Vlasov Dmitry (Vlas) and others. In mid-May 2000, Orekhov’s authority, Igor Maslennikov (“Nephew”), was detained. The following sentences were pronounced at a court hearing on May 19, 2004:
- Alexander Vasilchenko - life imprisonment.
- Alexander Pustovalov - 22 years old.
- Sergey Filatov and Dmitry Kulikov - 18 liters each.
- Ruslan Polyansky, Oleg Pronin, Ivan Sausarais, Vladimir Kamenetsky, Vitaly Alexandrov - 17 years each.
- Alexander Kravchenko - 8 years old.
- Dmitry Usalev and Yakov Yakushev - 8 years on probation.
- Victor Sidorov - 5 years probation.
The last three were released immediately after the process.
Smirnov's arrest
He was suspected of double murder of Gubanov and Chursin. The arrest took place in early July 2005. Smirnov (Bear) was detained a few days before the end of the statute of limitations for his arrest. The fact that he participated in the crimes, said one of the detainees in exchange for freedom. According to him, in late June 2005, Smirnov quarreled with Gubanov and Chursin near the Orekhovo restaurant. As a result of the conflict, the Bear shot them, and the bodies were taken to Borisovsky Ponds. In 2006, the Moscow City Court convicted Smirnov to 21 years in prison. His accomplices Vladimir Kuznetsov and Igor Losev received 10 and 12 years respectively.
The detention of Sherstobitov
He was arrested in 2006. Sherstobitov was the last of the main gang members. As in the case of Smirnov, he was extradited by one of the detainees. Alexei Sherstobitov was accused of a series of fairly high-profile killings, as well as assassination attempts. Among them, the elimination of Igor Yurkov (Udava), Grigory Gusyatinsky, as well as Joseph Glotser (the owner of the Dolls club) is especially notable. However, the murder of Otari Kvantrishvili near the Krasnopresnensky baths is considered especially loud. The Sherstobitov executed this execution in April 1994 from the attic of one of the houses nearby. The investigation lasted 2 years. The trial ended with a jury verdict in the Moscow City Court at the end of September 2008. Sherstobitov was sentenced to 23 years in prison. His accomplices - Sergei Elizarov and Pavel Makarov - received 11 and 16 years respectively.
Extradition
Medvedkovskaya organized crime group conducted activities not only in the Russian Federation, but also abroad. And in connection with the investigation that began, many of its participants had to flee abroad. The first "forced returnee" was Ruslan Zaitsev. He was deported from Hungary on January 15, 2001. According to operatives, Zaitsev was one of the most active gang member. He has been on the international wanted list since the beginning of October 1995. A month after the extradition of Zaitsev, in February 2001, Marat Polyansky and Sergey Butorin were arrested by Spanish special forces in a suburb of Barcelona . The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation sought the extradition of the latter, since by that time a rather large base of charges had accumulated. In particular, Butorin was charged with planning 29 murders and extortion. In Spain, the bandits very actively resisted. They understood that in Russia they would face a rather severe punishment, probably even a life sentence. Spain, in turn, was in no hurry to extradite criminals. Only 8 years after serving a sentence for illegal possession of ammunition and weapons, in 2009, in October, Polyansky was extradited, and the next year, in early March, Butorin was extradited. In September 2002, Sergei Mikhalin, Oleg Pylev and other active gang members were detained in Ukraine. All were on the international wanted list for organizing a series of killings. After some time, they were extradited to the Russian Federation. In August 2005, after several blanket detentions, Andrei Pylev was expelled from Spain.

New processes
In 2005, on August 17, the Moscow City Court sentenced eleven gang members operating in Moscow in the early 1990s to sentences ranging from 4 to 24 years. The perpetrators accounted for 18 murders and other serious crimes. 24 years - the maximum period for that process - was received by Oleg Pylev. He was sent to a maximum security colony. Gusev got ten years, who, together with Pustovalov, killed Solonik. 2 years after this trial, new circumstances opened up, in connection with which the Pylev case was reviewed. In September 2007, he, as well as Oleg Mikhailov and Sergey Makhalov, were sentenced to life imprisonment. In the fall of 2006, the Moscow City Court held a trial in the case of Maly (Andrei Pylev). He was sentenced to 21 years in prison. Dust was convicted of banditry, murder (including three custom-made ones, including the elimination of Solonik and Kotova) and assassination attempts. In 2011, in September, Butorin was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was charged with 36 murders and 9 attempts. Marat Polyansky was sentenced to 17 years. He was convicted of 6 murders and three assassination attempts.
Additional facts
The Medvedsk gang was closely associated with the police. These facts are confirmed by documents seized from criminals. So, at Ponomarev were found printouts of information from the base of the traffic police on a car used by one of the victims of the killers. The list of residents of one of the houses where the family of the next person who was interested in criminals was also removed. Documents were also found on the special inspection of the ZIC GUVD regarding a number of victims. All the bloody episodes that took place in the activities of the gang indicate that its members were constantly in fear for their own lives. At any moment, one of them could be eliminated or put on a tip from the leaders. For example, two gangsters who were sent to watch one of the Moscow markets were detained by police without any reason. In the department they were severely beaten, but then they were released. Subsequently, they were given to understand that in such a way the leaders of the group checked their loyalty. Later, Oleg Pylev talked with them and explained what should be said and how to behave during detention.

Finally
The fate of many members of the Klimov’s gang, who voluntarily sided with the Medvedkovskaya criminal group, became rather sad. Around 1996-97 two of them, Igor Smirnov and Yuri Fedulov, went to Greece, but were missing there. Later, Vasily Tsarkov left for a meeting with Vyacheslav Ponomarev . However, the latter was arrested. After his release, Tsarkov learned that he was surrendered by Oleg Pylev. But as soon as he began to openly threaten, he immediately went missing. Tsarenko also disappeared. He said that he no longer wished to be a member of the group and owed nothing to anyone. The story of the Medvedkovskaya organized crime group received quite a wide public outcry. From the beginning of the investigation, many gang members managed to escape, but most of them were found and convicted.
