Often people stop using their accommodation because due to their professional duties and personal hobbies (watching movies and playing games on a computer), many are not able to distract their eyes from closely located objects during the day. When a person is constantly looking at nearby objects, his eye is in maximum tension. The ciliary muscle, which is responsible for the act of accommodation, can be spasmodic from such an overstrain and provoke the development of false, or, as it is also called, functional myopia. As a rule, people neglect to do exercises for the eyes when working at a computer or reading for a long time. Techniques for the treatment of accommodative spasm and the prevention of myopia can conditionally be divided into five specific groups.

  • Corrective and preventive action of optical lenses. This is a special eye charge with the help of optics, which is used only during the training itself.   • Charging for the eyes according to the method of U.G. Bates or its modifications. Such training, which can be done at home, trains all the muscles of the organ of vision: both extraocular and intraocular. The simplest exercise is an object on glass. Its principle is as follows: a circle of paper is attached to the window glass at eye level, stand 1 m from it and fix it with a look. Then they look at the most distant object behind the glass. Then again they “look” at the object on the glass. And so they do it several times until the deleted item becomes clearer. This exercise should be done every day.
  • Special computer programs. They relax the muscular system of the eye and prevent the development of myopia.
