Sometimes there is a need for remote access to the desktop of another computer, for example, you forgot to copy some necessary information to a USB flash drive. This problem can be solved quite quickly and without much difficulty, if you configure remote access. In this situation, we have only one question: how to configure remote access? Let's get it right.
How to configure remote access: general concepts
You can make this setup both with standard built-in tools of the operating system, and with the help of third-party software products designed to solve such a problem. To begin, consider the option of using the standard features of Windows 7. You need to turn on the computer to which access must be configured, as well as having an active Internet connection. Everything else is exclusively a matter of technology. This operating system provides two connection options: remote control and remote assistant. In all versions of Windows, it is possible to connect to a remote assistant, and remote control is supported exclusively in Windows 7, while the system edition should be maximum or professional. If you connect the remote assistant, then for both users everything that happens on the desktop will be visible, and it will also be allowed to work with it. If we are talking about remote control, then only one user can carry out simultaneous work with a computer, and a lock screen appears in front of the local one, that is, the system is logged out for it. At the same time, the remote user has access to the system and for him everything looks as if he himself is sitting at the computer.
How to configure remote access: connect the remote assistant
First of all, you need to allow the desktop connection from remote computers. It is done like this. First go to the control panel, there you need to select the system and security, and then the system item. In the window for viewing computer information on the left you will see a user menu. In it, you need to find the line "Remote Access Settings", and then in the new window allow the connection of the assistant. After allowing access, you must run the special utility โWindows Remote Assistanceโ on the local and remote computers. Well, it's time to set up remote access. On the called computer, you must create an invitation, which is done by selecting the "Invite someone you trust" item, after which the program will offer several options to choose from. You must choose one of them, it can be: saving as a file, sending via e-mail, as well as using Easy Connect. With any option selected, you will be informed of a password, after entering which the remote user will have access to the computer. This is not all that concerns the question of how to configure remote access via the Internet. Now the remote user will run the invitation file or choose the Easy Connect connection method, and then he will see the password request. After the password is entered, a connection will be initiated. This completes the access setup in this way. Now the remote user will be able to see the desktop in front of a separate window.
How to configure remote access: connect the remote control
To set up desktop management, first everything is done in the same way as in the previous version. Now you must select the desktop connection version. Here you have two different possible choices: if the versions of the operating systems are the same, then the third option is selected, and if they are different, then the second. In the program for connecting to the remote table, you must enter the name of the computer of interest and its user. The remaining tabs allow you to configure remote connection settings. All parameters can be saved as a file. When the settings are completed, you need to click "Connect", and then enter the password.
As you can see, there are no difficulties in solving this problem.
