The bream among fishermen is a fairly popular fish. It is caught at all times of the year, including in winter, as during this period, this fish remains quite active. Some fishermen prefer to make tackles for fishing the bream in the winter with their own hands, some prefer to purchase “branded” ones in the store (which, incidentally, will cost many times more expensive, but in quality it is not a fact that you will benefit). I must say that amateur and factory gear for bream in the winter are not so diverse. The leaders still remain: a fishing rod and mormyshka. They have general principles of the device, differing mainly in the method of signaling bites: a float or a nod. There are, of course, alternative tackle options for catching bream in winter on the stream or in still water, but they will be discussed a bit later. But first, you should know about the basic principles of feeding this fish in the cold.
A bit about bream
In winter, the bream is inclined to get food at the very bottom - in the bottom space. And he feeds, respectively, on living organisms, which may currently be there. These rather small batteries have a mass that is very close to the liquid medium of the reservoir, so when they are in the water they weigh almost nothing. Bream is a smart and careful fish. Therefore, having tried the bait, which is on the hook, you can suspect something is amiss if its weight is much heavier than natural food. Not to mention that it can prick itself on a hook or feel the base on which the bait is planted (in the form of bloodworms, for example). Thus, the main task of tackle for catching bream in the winter during the course is to reduce the feeling of increased mass of the bait, to make the fish believe that the mosquito larva fell into the water naturally. Attached to the hook, the bait gains extra weight. And in a correctly tuned gear, the mass is skillfully compensated by a float (or rather, by its lifting force) or a nod (by its bending spring).
Winter fishing rod
This beloved and widespread type of equipment for fishing for bream in the winter during the course is successfully used in still water, for example, in a reservoir, where there is also a lot of this type of fish. It consists of a fishing rod, fishing line with a reel, a float and a hook with a sinker. The main difference from summer float equipment for bream fishing on the course: a fishing rod, which has certain nuances in its design. You can, of course, not rack your brains and purchase it in any fishing market. But many fishermen, according to an already existing tradition, prefer to make such things with their own hands (and it’s much cheaper). What is needed to make this important part of the fishing rod practical and convenient?
Tackles for catching bream in the winter during the course - do it yourself
It should be noted right away that many avid anglers do not recommend turning a rod for a rod from foam. Firstly, it is light enough, and with a good wind that can happen, your tackle will be carried away by him, as in the eponymous novel "Gone with the Wind." In addition, polystyrene cools hands in the winter. Therefore, you should make the handle of cork or artificial materials. And the whip made of fiberglass or bamboo - each has its own preferences. It would be nice to equip the fishing rod with a special stand, the so-called "filly." It can act both as a base and as a fastener for hooks (for this purpose, a piece of cork from champagne or wine crashes into the structure). If your fishing rod is equipped with a handle, then for it you also need to make a small stand block that will fix the tackle and prevent it from falling onto the ice. Fishing line is used 0.15-0.20 mm. At night, a thicker one is applied - up to 0, 25 mm. The hook corresponds to the expected catch, and the fishing reel - to the small size of this tackle for fishing the bream in the winter on the reservoir or on the river (the whole structure, ideally, no more than half a meter, and better - less).
Float
An important part of this gear is the float. I would like to talk about him separately. Usually he is chosen a small, rounded shape (pot-bellied), bright enough to be noticeable in the gray-white color surrounding the gear. Better - orange or bright red, you can - neon shades. When fishing at night - phosphorescent. But in any case, it should not be long and narrow, as for summer fishing, and - large. This part of the gear is usually put up in the holes just below the water level. That is, the very force of lifting the float makes a little less than the force that makes the sinker with bait sink to the bottom. The float is in a drowned state. This is done so that the fish feel less overweight bait. It is believed that the float / sinker system works well if the bait is dipped at a speed of a few centimeters per second. Adjusting the system is quite simple at home (since fishing, wind and snow, it usually doesn’t happen before, but if the bite has gone too). We collect a bucket of water (or better, a full bath), we fasten a float and a sinker made of alloy or lead. We check the design by lowering it into water. If the sinker is too small, we attach another piece. If the float drowns too quickly, we cut off the lead with metal scissors. Mormyshka
This mysterious Russian word for foreigners is called by the fishermen both the tackle itself and the method of fishing. A fishing rod with mormyshka differs in structure from a winter float. Many also strive to make it with their own hands. Moreover, it will be even easier to do this than to construct the previous version of the equipment described above for fishing for bream in the winter on the Volga (or any other river). The design consists of a fishing rod with a handle, fishing line and reel, nodding, fishing hooks with hooks. The whip can be made from the corresponding vinyl plastic along the length, the handle can be made of cork (and hooks can be stuck in transit at the same time). The length of the whip is up to 25-30 centimeters. It can also be made removable (very convenient for transportation) by using a metal strong tube as a mount, where this part is inserted. For the production of pens, 5-6 wine bottle caps are required. The reel should be with a latch and automatic discharge of the line when a strong jerk. A nod to the bream is made longer - up to 10 centimeters to provide a soft, smooth, slightly slowed down play of mormyshka. This device is made at home from various materials at hand: an hour spring, a plastic plate, a piece of rubber for an aircraft model.
Equipment for fishing bream in winter at night
The bream belongs to such fish, which are good to catch at night. Especially in winter: there is always some kind of special fishing romance. And despite the fact that this type of fishing is nevertheless a rather extreme occupation, there are lovers of this kind, and there are a lot of them. The main thing is to take care not only of the catch, but also of your own health. A small tent in the shape of a plague is best suited as equipment. Heating in it is created using a micro stove on dry fuel. You need to store candles, a flashlight with a battery, a powerful enough, air mattress. It is also recommended to use feeders for feeding fish (they are better suited from transparent plastic - for example, from medicines or perfumes). As tackle, a jig or a winter fishing rod is used. As a bait - traditionally - bloodworms or larvae. A characteristic feature of this fish is that it sees very poorly at night, but focuses on touch and hearing. Therefore, the fishing line can be taken thicker, but soft. And ideally, use a nylon thread.
Yoke
Another type of tackle for bream fishing in winter is a rocker. A large and cautious bream, and this has been noticed by many fishermen, can’t be taken for mormyshka. And with this device you can fish out a two-kilogram. The beam can, of course, be bought at a fishing store, but it’s quite simple to construct it yourself. Take a thin and stiff wire up to 100 mm long. We bend it in the form of a rocker (hence the name). The line is threaded along the entire length and must be fixed with a rubber stopper. And you can build the notorious rocker from an ordinary insulating wire directly on fishing. Cut off about 10-12 centimeters. Through the hole of the resulting tube, we extend the fishing line. At the ends we leave pieces of fishing line (5 cm), where the hooks will be attached. Compress the design with a small strip of soft lead. A similar device is attached to the main fishing line with a carbine.
Pull-up
Tackle fishing equipment for winter bream can be used only in those places where there is a fairly strong current. Ideally, gear is thrown from a hole through a hole to 25 meters. There is no need to feed bream at the same time, because the current will blow your lure anyway. Before starting such fishing, avid anglers advise thoroughly studying the bottom of the reservoir (some do this in the summer, if they go to this reservoir quite often). We ditch the fishing line with a shot and a hook in the hole and release it at an approximate speed of 20-30 centimeters per second. As soon as the bait with a sinker reaches the bottom (this will become noticeable by sagging fishing line), pull the fishing line back. Then we release again, repeating the operation after a certain time (ten seconds).
