When is it necessary to configure the Internet?
In general, there are three cases where it is guaranteed to have to at least check whether the necessary parameters for accessing the Internet are present in the corresponding section of the menu of the cellular device:
- when buying a new SIM card - even if you previously successfully used the Global Network to search for data, view it and other operations, then when you purchase a SIM card of the carrier in question (however, as with the SIM card of any other operator) you will have to re-implement setting parameters;
- when installing an existing SIM card in a new cellular device, an access point must also be registered; Tele2 Internet will provide only with the appropriate settings;
- when replacing a SIM card (due to loss, breakage, etc.).
General settings
In connection with the variety of mobile devices, it is necessary to explain and talk about the possible nuances and subtleties in each case. First, we give a general description of the parameters that are necessary so that your mobile gadget can easily connect to the Internet.
The main parameter is the access point (apn) “Tele2” - in the corresponding field should be set to “ internet.tele2.ru ”. Next is the type of connection (for some models a different name may be rolled) - GPRS. All other settings are optional. However, we will give them here:
- proxy server must have the status “off”;
- login and password do not need to be entered (i.e., fields must be left blank);
- the name of the connection can be set arbitrarily by the user.
4G internet
Many subscribers - owners of SIM cards of the considered telecom operator are faced with the impossibility of using 4G Internet, although there is information on the official Tele2 portal that such an opportunity exists. What could be the problem? How should the Tele2 access point be configured? It turns out that the thing is that to get super-fast Internet, which according to the assurances of the operators is 4G, settings alone are not enough. It is necessary that the subscriber’s device has support for LTE-1800 (Band 3) - you can check the availability of this parameter by looking at the gadget’s user manual or check on its manufacturer’s website. Another condition that must be met is the receipt of a special SIM card, which makes it possible to interact with the 4G network. For owners of mobile devices who have difficulty setting up the Internet, the Tele2 automatic service has been developed, when accessed, you can receive a message with the necessary parameters on your phone. To send a request, dial 679. Then, after a notification about receiving a new message appears on the screen, go to it and execute the "Save" command ("Apply", other variations are possible). After the operation is completed successfully, the device should be rebooted and check whether the Tele2 access point was automatically filled.
Manual settings
If the device cannot be automatically configured, it is recommended that you try to repeat this procedure several times, that is, you must perform it manually. The “Tele2” access point on the “Android” devices and devices with other operating systems uses the same one. The only difference is to determine exactly where the settings section is located on your device. For example, for “Android”: go to the main settings of the device, then select the “Cellular Communications” section, then the item “Access Points (APN)”. Why can’t I go online?
If the “Tele2” access point has been successfully registered in your phone or tablet along with other parameters necessary for the Internet to work, but you still cannot use this service, you should check:
- whether mobile data is turned on (it’s not enough just to set up the Internet, but you must also enable its use in the device’s settings - you can find out more by reading the user manual);
- specify the remaining traffic (if the unlimited internet option is connected);
- check the status of the account - even if the unlimited Internet option is connected, it is necessary that there is a positive balance in the account;
- make sure that the operating system is functioning normally - it is recommended to reboot the device in order to check the operability.
