History
At the beginning of 2015, the two airlines merged: Turukhan (previously exclusively engaged in helicopter transport) and KATEKAVIA (engaged in air transport). The renewed and enlarged airline was called Turukhan and is owned by UTair Leasing LLC. Both carriers, merged into one company, have a rich history.
"KATEKAVIA" appeared in the city of Sharypovo in 1995. By 2015, the fleet consisted of about 29 aircraft. Most of them are property.
Turukhan Airlines was established in 2001 and was considered the operator of MI-8 helicopters. Created it on the basis of Turukhansk SUAI. Only in 2012 did the company transfer to UTair Group of Companies. Together with it “included” 15 own helicopters, as well as contracts for aerial work directly on the territory of Turukhansky district.
In 2014, it was decided to merge these two air carriers in order to enlarge the business. The result was one operator, Turukhan. The merger process was completed by early 2015. Today, the total staff of the company is 405 people. Of these, 312 people are flight technical personnel.
Turukhan Airlines: reviews
Turukhan customers often write reviews. There are both positive and negative points in the work of the company. Of the negative impressions - a small baggage limit - up to 10 kg in one hand. Everything is within the norm, but shift workers often use the services of the airline, who are forced to take much more baggage with them.
Good passengers speak about the staff of the airline. Stewardesses are always friendly and polite. And pilots are undoubted professionals. If flight delays occur (this happens with charters), then no more than 15-20 minutes. At the same time, the plane usually arrives at its destination on time.
Especially praised food on board. Even the most fastidious passengers are satisfied with quality products and a good selection of dishes. At any time, the stewardess can ask for drinks. Their range is also quite extensive, despite the small flight range.
The airline "Turukhan" provides not only transportation in Russia. There are also charter flights abroad. It is noted that the price of tickets for such routes is slightly lower than that of other air carriers, which is very valuable for those traveling with large companies or families.
