If you are going on vacation to Fethiye or Marmaris (Turkey), the airport that will accept your flight will be one hundred and twenty kilometers east of the resort. The nearest town is called Dalaman. Does this mean that you must first get to it, then to rush to the long-awaited coolness of the Aegean? Let's look at several options for driving to and from the airport, and also learn how to spend time in the building for our own benefit.
Long and short road to Marmaris
How much to go from the airport? This question probably worries all tourists arriving in Dalaman, especially in the evening. You can, of course, quickly and easily get into Marmaris and a taxi, but this pleasure will cost you an extra 125 liras (90-100 dollars). There is an option to use a regular regular bus, but then the trip will take you about three hours. If you fly by charter (Mostravel, for example, or Tez-tour), you can arrange a transfer on a tourist bus when buying a ticket. The road to Marmaris will take you a little more than an hour. Fethiye is shorter from the airport, so the road will be cheaper.
How to get to Marmaris Airport
If you fly with Turkish Airlines, then you will not have problems with how to get to the plane. The company from its office in Marmaris (Ataturk Street, 26-B) sends branded buses with the inscription "Havaş" directly to the entrance to the departure hall. If you were not able to get hooked on this “Havash” for three euros, try another option. Coop's buses regularly depart from the Marmaris bus station. The fare in it is four euros. On the way, he makes stops in Gekova, Ortadzh, Dalaman. Fethiye is in the opposite direction from Marmaris. To the airport from there ply their "Havashi".
Airport Services
On the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, only one airport accepts aircraft - in Antalya. The coast of the Aegean Sea is covered with a network of fairly large cities, so there are several air gates here. Marmaris Airport cannot be compared with Antalya Airport - it is much smaller and simpler. Lost here is almost impossible. Stepping off the ramp, you immediately get to the border control booths, and bypassing them - to the baggage claim. Having taken your suitcases, do not rush to the exit - you need Turkish money to get to the place of rest. Currency exchange, Lost & Found service, as well as trolleys (they require a deposit, which is handed at a special counter) - all this is in the arrivals hall.
For departing passengers, Marmaris Airport has equipped a mother and child rest room, three chapels (Christian, Islamic and Jewish). There are also bank offices, a post office, and a currency exchange office. You can grab a bite to eat in the many restaurants and cafes. Naturally, like at other airports, here you can buy plane tickets - company representatives lined up a long line along the hall. For those who leave the country, there is an additional pleasure - duty-free shops. Marmaris Airport gives you the opportunity to stock up on alcohol, souvenirs and quality items from world brands at a low price.
