More than a third of the world's population uses the Google Chrome browser. Such popularity is due to the pleasant interface, as well as a large selection of extensions designed for ease of use on the Web. However, occasionally users surfing sites encounter an internal communication error ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. This inscription may appear at the most unexpected moment, which causes justifiable confusion. Not everyone can immediately deal with this problem.
Causes
There are many explanations for why the user encountered an internal Google Chrome communication error. The most common cause is a local network, the settings of which were changed by the user or his PC software. If it provides for work through a proxy, then this could very well lead to a similar error.
The cache is convenient when you need to quickly go to a site that you visited earlier, but this also leads to crashes that cause internal communication errors. To correct the situation, it is necessary to check all possible options and identify the cause of the problem.
LAN check
If the network settings were knocked down, this will interfere with the connection with some nodes. To get rid of the problem, you need to perform the simplest manipulations:
- Clamp on the keyboard Win (with the Microsoft logo) and R.
- In the window that opens, enter inetcpl.cpl and press "Enter."
- A new window will appear on the screen, in which you need to go to the “Connections” tab and find the “Network Settings” button there.
- A new window will open. In it you need to check the box “Use a proxy server for local connections”. If it is already standing, then it is necessary, on the contrary, to remove it.
- Click “Confirm” in all open windows and restart the PC.
After turning on the computer, you must go to the browser and make sure that the internal communication error has disappeared. If nothing has changed, then the cause of the disconnection is not related to local networks.
DNS servers
Changing server settings can help fix the error. To do this, you need to change the automatically set server addresses to those officially provided by Google.
To do this, just make a few manipulations:
- Press the combination of Win and R again.
- Enter ncpa.cpl in the line that appears and confirm the command.
- In the window that opens, select the active connection and click on it 2 times with the left mouse button.
- A new tab will open, in which you need to click on the "Properties" button.
- Another window will appear. In it you need to double-click on "Internet Protocol Version 4".
- A third window will open. Here it is necessary to activate "Use the following DNS addresses" and specify 8.8.8.8 as the preferred server, and 8.8.4.4 for the alternative.
- Confirm all changes.
- Check the browser for an internal communication error.
Clearing stored cookies
As mentioned earlier, it is very convenient to store the history of visits to Internet resources. Thanks to this feature, the work of webmasters who engage in targeted advertising and many other things is greatly facilitated. However, sometimes cookies cause internal communication errors. What to do in this situation?
Just go to your browser settings. After that, you need to go to the personal data section and clear the entire history of visits, including cookies and cache. You need to delete all files. If you clear only the data that has accumulated over the past week, the situation will not change, and the browser will still give an error.
If none of this helps, then it's worth looking at the settings of the brandmauer and antivirus. Sometimes the error disappears after reinstalling the latter. However, before that, it is better to try disabling the antivirus for a few minutes and check the browser.
