It may sound sad, but the latest version of the Windows 10 operating system is openly spying on users. This is expressed not only in the fact that confidential data is transmitted to Microsoft servers, but also in the fact that it even tracks the location of the computer, laptop or smartphone on which this system is installed. How many lawsuits have already been made in this regard - not to count. Nevertheless, everything remains as it is. But let's see how you can disable Windows 10 tracking using standard system tools and third-party programs. This is quite simple to do if you know exactly which service and when to deactivate.
How and why does Windows 10 track user activity?
According to Microsoft itself, there is no tracking of the user or the actions taken by him. If account creation is used, the system naturally retains the full name user. On the other hand, some user preferences are taken into account, say, in terms of receiving news.
Along the way, LOG-files of error reports can be sent to the corporation servers (just this is not a big deal) or lists of actions, which are believed to improve the performance of Windows 10, add new functionality and avoid repeating errors in the future. But is it really so? Not at all. The user, not wanting it himself, can save, for example, passwords and PIN codes from bank cards on the computer (this is the simplest). They can be read by the system itself. And if we talk about hackers who can steal such information, then you yourself understand ... Perhaps the servers of the corporation itself are at the highest level of protection, but user terminals with the same Windows Defender are completely defenseless.
Disabling Windows 10 Tracking During System Installation
But we were distracted. The very first pitfall awaits the user at the stage of system installation. Yes Yes! Few people pay attention to the two lines from the bottom in the window for increasing health, and everyone presses the continue button using the standard default settings.
But if you click on the hyperlink to the parameters, you can see how many are included. In the settings window, you need to rearrange all the sliders to the off position. This is the only way to disable Windows 10 tracking (at least in the first stage). But what if the user nevertheless accepted the standard settings?
Disabling Tracking Services in Windows 10 after Installation
At this stage, we assume that the system is installed and working. In Windows 10, disabling user tracking is done through the options menu and privacy section.
In the general settings section, you need to set all the faders to the off position, then click on the line for receiving ads from Microsoft, and in the window that appears, make sure that all sliders are also set to off.
Further, in Windows 10, disabling tracking also means disabling geolocation. In the previous menu, select the location bar and turn off everything that is. Be sure to pay attention to the location log item and clean it up.
Now we turn to the lines of the camera and microphone, where we also set all the sliders to the disconnected position. Finally, if the line “Meet me” is present in the speech and handwriting section, then all surveillance has been disabled.
At the final stage, we enter our own account and disable all applications that can use it.
In the feedback section for the formation, set the parameter “Never”, and for the diagnostic data - “Basic information”. After that, you can enable or disable background services, but this does not really matter.
In the last turn, turn off telemetry. To do this, use the command line launched as administrator, where the following list of commands is entered with the enter key pressed after each of them, as shown in the image below.
If you use the Edge browser, you need to find the Do Not Track request parameter in it and set the on position for it.
In the security settings, you can disable cloud protection, and in accounts, deactivate data synchronization.
Finally, you can simply lock all Microsoft servers in the Hosts file.
Applicable Programs
In principle, some tracking tracking program in Windows 10 may also be used. For the first case, the same Windows 10 Manager will do. But for complete confidence and automation of the process, it is better to use two simple utilities: DWS or Disable Win Tracking.
