For ten years now, a large-scale change in the transport infrastructure has been going on in the capital of Russia . The government plans two large chords in the north, including a grand rocky road, many sections of which have already been commissioned. Less than two years are left to complete the work. In the south, this type of track will contain several punctures in different directions to connect the important routes of the metropolis. The name of the project refers to the military concept, but in this case means the highway created directly, bypassing the center and major interchanges of the city.
Northeast movement. The beginning of the way
The road connecting the two chords (eastern and western) is called Northern Rokada. It is a street of the main type of the first level with a constant process of car traffic. The tract consists of two sections with four lanes. As you move the track narrows to three zones, and later to two. The widest places are part of the northeast chord. A feature of the construction was the complete absence of transport interchanges.

Thus, designers were able to increase throughput and eliminate the appearance of unnecessary machines. And in areas associated with major highways, including chords, everything will be part of one infrastructure. By 2010, construction work was resumed, and the organizers had already announced their readiness for operation of the site connecting Kozhukhovo and Kosino-Ukhtomskoye. Seven months later, a three-level road was completed, running in parallel with the railway track. It has become an excellent alternative to Ryazan Avenue and the Enthusiasts highway. In the area of Anosov Street, Northern Rokada intersects with the fourth transport ring. Then the track will go to Budyonny Avenue and go into the tunnel to connect with the chord.
North direction today
At the moment, traffic on this project is already open up to Festival Street itself, including the roundabout located in the area.
It is worth noting that after putting the site into operation at the end of last year, the situation on the Moscow-Sheremetyevo highway improved significantly. A rocky road was built for about two years. The entire complex of structures consists of 8 kilometers of highway, including reconstructed, and four and a half kilometers of overpasses in the amount of nineteen pieces. As they progressed, the employees of the building company were also involved in putting in order nearby and adjacent streets, underground passages created for pedestrians, and installing specialized screens with a soundproofing effect. In the spring of this year, the construction of the next section was launched. Rokada, the northern scheme of which is shown below, on this project will go to Schelkovo highway, and will begin in the Izmailovsky district.
Infrastructure of the south. History of development
The main goal of the highway construction is to connect two major highways - Kashirsky and Warsaw. Without such a bundle, getting to them is problematic not only in prime time, but also in calmer periods of the day. At the moment, you can get to transport facilities through a tunnel in the fork area or in the immediate vicinity of the fourth transport ring. The fulfillment of the project goal includes not only the construction of such an object as Southern Rokada, but also the improvement of the infrastructure of the surrounding streets.
At present, five sections have been commissioned; a span from Varshavskoye Shosse to Proletarsky Prospekt and two grand interchanges are under construction. The completion of the multi-kilometer road from
Rublevskoye Shosse to Balaklava Prospekt took place at the very beginning of 2014. Throughout the year, testing of a new transport entity was underway. The leadership of the capital called it quite successful.
The two largest flyovers
The start of the South Rokada project took place in 2010. Since then, a huge number of steps have been taken in this direction and several laborious stages have been completed. This is especially true of two large flyovers - Michurinskaya and Rublevskaya.
The first moves along the avenue with the same name, has six stripes of width and more than three hundred and fifty meters in length. The second has the same number of areas for cars, twice the length of the Michurinsky flyover, and with porches and forks, it almost reaches one thousand kilometers. In addition, the rocky road in this section was replenished with protective screens.
Lack of traffic lights
After commissioning of the planned pedestrian-type underpasses along the entire length of the new Rublevskoye Shosse - Balaklava Avenue highway, automatic traffic controllers disappeared. There will be eight underground structures in total. Thus, the rocky road will be able to increase the throughput by an order of magnitude and reduce the factors that impede the unloading of transport infrastructure.
State of affairs today
At the moment, a general contractor has already been selected who will be engaged in the construction of the site from Balaklava to Proletarsky Prospekt.
The project program for the upcoming work includes the construction of two and a half kilometers of sidewalks and the same number of new routes, plus three and a half kilometers of reconstruction. In addition, 3 crosswalks for pedestrians, a tunnel, overpass and two bridges over the river will be built here. That is what South Rokada will look like in this section. The construction period is still dated 2017, but can be postponed to a later time.
