Human nature is amazing and mysterious. Some modifications of the appearance are terrifying, others - delight, and even shock. Unusual eye color in nature is not so rare. Sometimes a childβs iris turns out to be absolutely fantastic. Emerald, multi-colored, turquoise ... Sometimes, genes are formed so that even people with purple eyes are born . It is about this phenomenon that is worth talking in more detail.
The color of the eyes in a person directly depends on the pigment contained in the iris. It is located in the mesoderm and ectoderm layer. A very important role in the resulting eye color is played by blood vessels, as well as individual fibers of the membrane. Together with melanin, their density determines a specific shade. As a result, amber eyes may appear, bright green, dark blue and even purple. However, the existence of the latter is still in question.
People with purple eyes, photos of which you have probably come across in various sources, most often use special tinted contact lenses. Also there is the use of "Photoshop". However, it is believed that the famous actress Elizabeth Taylor had eyes that were purple. And in those days there were no lenses, and
also special equipment for changing the shade. But in this case, scientists argue that such an unusual eye color was obtained as a result of the effect that gave light on the set. In fact, they say, the actress had
gray-blue eyes.
It is believed that such a shade of the iris can occur as a result of an extremely rare pathology or medical illness. People with purple eyes are a rarity. Therefore, some scientists attribute this phenomenon to one of the manifestations of Marchezani syndrome. This disease is transmitted exclusively by inheritance and belongs to the class of pathologies. Patients suffering from this disease, as a rule, are characterized by low growth, poorly developed upper and lower limbs, as well as the presence of various vision problems. However, to date there is no reliable evidence that people with purple eyes have become the owners of their phenomenon precisely thanks to Marchezani syndrome.
Another version of the origin of the iris of such an unusual and beautiful shade is albinism. A genetic disorder in the body associated with the complete absence of the melanin pigment affects all aspects of the appearance. Not only hair and skin color are affected, but also eyes. In many albino people, the iris has a red tint, since all the vessels are perfectly visible. However, there are exceptions. It is possible that people with
purple eyes are the owners of a large amount of blue collagen. By mixing with a red tint, a semblance of violet appears. However, most often this color is formed due to the high photosensitivity of albinos.
Due to which mutation or disease people with purple eyes appear, it is not yet known reliably. However, this phenomenon always causes a real delight in the environment. The percentage of owners of purple eyes is extremely low. Therefore, each such person is truly unique.
