The Green Theater is called the heart of Voronezh Central Park, a unique modern venue that is very convenient for both artists and spectators. This is a real center of cultural recreation for citizens, which hosts numerous productions and concerts.
The opening of the updated Green Theater in Voronezh in 2016 completed the long-term reconstruction of the main city park. In 2017, this unique cultural complex entered completely restored and ready to fulfill the upcoming grandiose tasks. But more recently, both the park and its pearl, the Green Theater (Voronezh), were considered a memory of the Soviet past that goes down in history.
History: The Beginning
The park was opened in 1844. In the history of the city, he was known by various names:
- in imperial times it was called the Botanical Garden;
- under Soviet rule, the green massif was given the names of Maxim Gorky and Kaganovich;
- he was named Dynamo by the inhabitants in honor of the nearby stadium.
In Voronezh, the "Green Theater" appeared in the park during the reconstruction, after the liberation of the city from Nazi invaders. In the style of the “Stalinist Empire”, the main staircase and the summer stage were decorated here - this was how the amphitheater with numerous benches for spectators was arranged. A picturesque alley with lanterns led to the theater, which became a popular meeting place for lovers. In the summer on weekends, art lovers came here to enjoy theatrical performances, listen to concerts of visiting artists, watch a movie.
Crash
In 1986, the pace of construction of the North Bridge led to an almost irreparable result. Workers violated storm sewers, and in the summer, after heavy rains, the park was flooded. Water rising several meters washed away summer cafes, benches and attractions. The flood caused the park and the Green Theater (Voronezh) to be closed and forgotten for a long period.
Reconstruction
Restoration of the theater, as well as the entire central park of Voronezh, was expected until the spring of 2014. Local authorities decided to start reconstruction of this largest urban recreation area. First, the central alley, pond and springs were updated, a military burial place was arranged. In 2015, the modernization of the theater began.
New theater
The Green Theater was recreated in place of the previous one. The new project meets all modern requirements. For example, the reconstructed "Green Theater" has dressing rooms in the loft style. Significantly optimized the work of professionals serving the concerts: sound engineers and lighting artists received a separate room - a hardware room from which they can control the equipment installed in the hall. Experts call the Green Theater a modern facility that meets all the latest standards and has no analogues in Russia.
The theater is back in service
The newly rebuilt theater was recently commissioned. It consists of an open building (spectator seats and stage) and an administrative building of complex configuration. For the approach of the audience, a reconstructed staircase is buried in lush pink flower beds.
The amphitheater is designed for 1634 seats. It is considered one of the largest in the country. The arrangement of the stage is arranged so that a concert or a performance can be watched by as many people as possible: from different points on the stage a magnificent view opens. The design of the object is designed in black and white-green colors. The site is mainly a reflection of the architectural forms of the former, well-known to the Soviet audience, summer theater.
