Good afternoon, dear readers! Today we want to talk with you about one of the most relevant auto news recently.
The European auto industry is sounding the alarm - car sales over the past year decreased by 10% and amounted to slightly more than 920,000 units. The only European manufacturer that has managed to maintain its original position is BMW. The rest, however, announce sales drops of up to 28%. But against this background, Mazda, Hyndai and Jaguar Land Rover increased their speed.
Car sales in Europe are falling for the second year in a row. What is it: Test Drive European economy or the sunset of the familiar automotive market? And what does this promise for Russia and for you and me in particular?
In markets, the situation is not any better. Growth is observed only in Foggy Albion - the UK has added 11% in this indicator over the past year. The German market fell slightly - by 3.5%. On all other sites, the situation is much more deplorable - a reduction in sales of up to 20%. The anti-leaders are the Spanish, Italian and French markets.
What could be interesting in all this for ordinary Russians? Yes, a lot of things. Let's start with a simple one - most likely in their home markets, companies will take measures to regulate prices and vehicle options. New models should appear in the low price segments. Our compatriots involved in the purchase and sale of European cars (driving them from a Western factory to Russia) will be able to earn good money on this. Well, of course, we will have more choice when buying high-quality cars of European assembly.
As for the manufacturing companies themselves, in order to reduce costs, they should pay close attention to the economies of developing countries. Since Russia is such, it is to be expected that in the near future the number of factories of European automakers in our country will increase. There are 3 advantages to this. Firstly, an increase in jobs. Secondly, they will most likely
more complex technological processes were transferred to factories in our country. This will require the training of new skills of a large number of workers and, as a result, the increase of qualified personnel among Russian engineers. Well, the third - most likely in our market there will be a larger assortment (again, in the lower price segment) of cars assembled at Russian plants.
Of course, the behavior of Russian auto giants such as AvtoVAZ is of interest. If a new Mercedes appears on our market that is cheaper than the new Lada, hardly anyone will buy the latter. Therefore, the Russian concern will have to work hard, improving both the quality of the cars themselves and optimizing production.
In any case, ordinary citizens of our country should only benefit from all this. Although who knows? It is known that everything is possible in Russia. And do not be surprised if the price suddenly increases for customs clearance of a foreign car or, say, there will be an unspoken ban on the sale of cheap European cars in Russian car dealerships. We'll see. Although we really hope that nothing like this will happen and we all will soon be able to get ourselves an inexpensive high-quality car. After all, as one German friend of mine says: βIn Germany, Mercedes is a car of pensioners, and in Russia - of deputies.β
