In the city of Odintsovo, located in the Moscow region, the OSU (Odintsovo Humanitarian University) previously existed. A lot of students studied in it. Historical information
Odintsovo University of the Humanities was founded in 2004. The initiator of the creation of a higher educational institution in the city was Alexander G. Gladyshev. From 1991 to 2013, he was the head of the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. The founders of the university are:
- Foundation for the Development of Education and Science of the Odintsovo District "Creator".
- Municipal formation "Odintsovo Municipal District of the Moscow Region".
- ANO "Center for Regional Management and Sustainable Development of Territories".
The university opened its doors to the first students in 2005. In October, the official opening of a higher educational institution was held. Odintsovo University for the Humanities has set itself the main goal, which consists in the quality training of specialists with secondary vocational and higher education.
School Activities
The higher educational institution in Odintsovo carried out its activities in several areas: educational, research and international. If we evaluate the first of them, it can be noted that the organization implemented the following training programs for specialists with higher education:

University gymnasium
Since the university was aimed at organizing continuing education, he decided to organize a gymnasium in its structure. This event happened in 2008. In the opened gymnasium, children began to be taught in 4 areas: in the humanitarian, philological, socio-legal and information technology sectors. Such disciplines as literature, social studies, and a foreign language were studied in depth at the educational institution.
The gymnasium of the Odintsovo Humanitarian University had good performance indicators:
- about 47% of students were winners and prize winners of district, regional and All-Russian Olympiads;
- The staff of the educational institution developed several dozens of authoring educational programs of training courses, 9 methods for identifying gifted children;
- graduates successfully passed the exam - the average scores in all disciplines exceeded regional indicators.
OSU College
In addition to the gymnasium, the structure of the university included a secondary specialized educational institution. College entrants always aroused interest. Statistics showed that the number of applications from applicants increased annually, taking into account the fact that, on the whole, people's interest in colleges decreased, because many sought to enter institutions, academies, and universities.

The fate of the university
OSU is currently not on the city map. Odintsovo University of the Humanities ceased to exist. The address at which the university was located now belongs to another educational organization (3 Novo-Sportivnaya Street). At the end of 2015, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country signed an order. It spoke of the creation of a branch of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) on the basis of the Odintsovo Humanitarian University.
In March 2016, the created educational institution received a license from Rosobrnadzor, which gives the right to conduct educational activities. Later, a branch of a well-known institute successfully passed the accreditation procedure for all of its educational programs. In the same year, recruitment of students for undergraduate and graduate programs was started.
About MGIMO branch
An educational institution created on the basis of the Odintsovo University of the Humanities is currently preparing bachelors in 6 areas:

In April 2016, the Gorchakov Lyceum began working in the structure of the Odintsovo branch of MGIMO. He is engaged in the implementation of programs of basic general and secondary general education. Pupils study international disciplines, undergo linguistic training. Lyceum is an excellent launching pad for those children who in the future will want to enter MGIMO or foreign higher educational institutions.

Students at Odintsovo University of Humanities left positive and negative reviews. Someone liked the university, and someone said that the educational institution does not deserve the status of a university, since it looks more like a school or technical school, where the quality of the educational process is not at a high level.
