Childhood, adolescence, youth

Dmitry Shatrov was born in the hero-city of Leningrad in the family of a secret Protestant church, an evangelical priest on August 29, 1966. As a teenager, he received the obligatory Holy Baptism in water in August 1980 and recognized Jesus as his Savior and Lord.

The son of an underground evangelist, pastor of the hereditary Pentecostal Shatrov D.L., was introduced to evangelical Pentecostal Christians from childhood. His father had been preaching in the church all his life. In ROSHVE was a bishop. Mother Elvira Vitalievna devoted her life to raising four children and supporting her husband in the work of his whole life related to serving the church and the Lord.

In St. Petersburg, he studied at secondary school No. 90. From an early age he was distinguished by organizational abilities and has always been a leader. Dmitry was constantly organizing mass events in the framework of church life, and devoted all his free time to study and household chores to communicating with young representatives of the gospel movement, church minded people. Usually these were secret private events. During the period of the "perestroika era", conditions appeared for holding public preaching speeches. For two years, together with other young followers of the church, Dmitry Shatrov preached sermons and the Gospel daily, trying to communicate, convey and draw attention to the views of those around him.

Education and career

In 1983, after graduation, he began training at the "LMZ" at the VTUZ. A certified engineer-engineer in the specialty was simultaneously trained at the military department with the assignment of the rank of officer of the Russian tank forces in reserve. During the training, he worked at a metallurgy plant, starting from the very bottom, from the work of a blacksmith, reaching the position of engineer.

He has a bachelor's and master's degree in religious education and theology. On his account, numerous advanced training courses, and in 2005 he improved his qualification level at the Russian Presidential Administration under the President of the Russian Federation under the program “State Confessional Relations”.

In the late 90s, he became the founder of the media of two television channels on which programs of a religious Christian orientation were broadcast on air. At the end of 2006, Parus TV with its shareholdings was transferred to the ownership of the TVC channel. A prerequisite for this transfer of ownership was the preservation of the rights to broadcast programs of Christian-social content, and Dmitry Shatrov retained the position of general director of the branch in St. Petersburg. He remained in this post until 2013. Today, the church of Dmitry Shatrov is the work of his life. He is also the author of a number of publications and socio-religious treatise books.
