For the safety of personnel and work in areas of destruction by chemical or biological weapons, the military of all countries use special protective equipment. One of these types of workwear is the OZK suit. It prevents poisonous substances from entering the respiratory tract or the human body.
The OZK suit is in service in all CIS countries and is a personal protective equipment for military personnel. It consists of two main parts: workwear and gas mask. It can sometimes be used together with a respirator.
The complete set includes an OP-1 raincoat, protective stockings and gloves made of special protective and rubberized fabric. The OZK suit in its image is similar to a usual cloak with sleeves, a hood and additional devices, with the help of which all parts of the body are carefully closed.
Each set is individual and personally assigned to the military. The OZK personal suit has a tag that is attached to the base of the cloak. The mark contains information with the data of the military man.
The protective equipment is used only as a real threat or for training purposes for training and strengthening skills. The suit is not intended for long wear. The rubber material does not allow air to pass through, and the atmosphere inside the clothing with prolonged use can adversely affect the health status of personnel. Therefore, a responsible person is appointed in advance, who monitors the duration of classes, protecting from the undesirable consequences of trained military personnel.
There are certain temporary standards for which personnel need
to wear a protective clothing OZK and begin to perform the task. The maximum long wearing time is approximately 4 hours. This is provided by the Ministry of Defense and the rules for the use of special protective suits.
Raincoats have four different standards in which a person’s height and size are defined. The minimum length is 166 cm, the maximum is based on large dimensions, so costumes from 178 cm and above are made. There are many military personnel in the army, whose growth exceeds the specified boundaries, in which case the OZK is made by special order. The process of providing personnel with such suits is mandatory, each soldier must receive the necessary protective equipment on time. Rubber stockings also have standard sizes, ranging from 37 and more. The costume is made so that it is convenient to use. This makes it possible for the personnel to change clothes in the shortest possible time, because every second can be decisive in military operations.
According to the standards set by the Ministry of Defense, personal protective equipment can have an excellent and satisfactory rating, which is set for the time spent putting on a complete set.
In addition, there is another type of workwear, designated as a suit L-1 OZK. It is a light version and is also used as protection against chemical or biological weapons.
