The elections of the governor of the Saratov region held in September 2017 did not bring big surprises. As expected, Valery Radaev won them. 74.63% of the active population voted for him. Valery Radaev is a native of the Saratov region. More precisely, his life began in the village of Blagodatnoye, which is located in the Khvalynsky district. He was born in 1961 on a spring day on April 2. His father was a driver at a state farm, and his mother worked there as the main agronomist. Valery grew up in an ordinary rural house, where ducks and hens roamed around the yard. Parents had to get up at 5 in the morning to drive sheep and cows to pasture. In Saratov, despite numerous complaints from residents and the media’s repeated coverage of this problem, traffic jams during peak hours, especially in winter, turn out to be almost a natural disaster. For example, getting from the center to remote corners of the Leninsky district, an ordinary person can spend from 3 to 4 hours on such a move. In the specified regional center there is no metro and other high-speed modes of transport. And the increase in the number of buses, trolleybuses and minibuses does not solve the problem, but only multiplies the number of traffic jams and traffic accidents.
For the debts of "Saratovgorelectrotrans" laid two depots. As a result, the city may lose a trolleybus and tram station, as well as three substations. If this state of affairs affects the operation of these modes of transport, city residents can be left not only without a part of the means of transportation. They will find themselves without the only opportunity to travel during rush hours, bypassing traffic jams, which was usually done earlier, getting on a tram.
