Moskvich-214145-Svyatogor is a 5-door passenger car that has been produced at the Moscow AZLK plant since 1997. Compared to previous 2140 models, this new product received a completely different line of engines, and also significantly changed its appearance. Design
As we noted earlier, Moskvich-2141-Svyatogor (you can see the photo of this car on the left) is very similar to cars of foreign origin, which were mass-produced in the 90s. And this is indeed so - the design of Svyatogor by that time could not be called outdated. For the first time, rounded headlights were used on it, which significantly modernized the appearance of the car. The bumper of Moskvich is very simple - not painted in body color and made of plastic. Below there are places for attaching fog lights (they could be installed by the car owner at will). The Moskvich-Svyatogor wheels are stamped - there have never been alloy wheels in this model.
The overall body structure of the car is very similar to the VAZ of the ninth family - a very similar profile between them. However, the presence of incomprehensible angularities did not make the car old and did not in any way appear on the exterior from the negative side. The architecture of the hood, wings and doors at the Svyatogor is the simplest - the domestic auto industry did not even dream about any relief forms at that time. At the same time, the absence of pathos significantly reduced the cost of the design of the machine.

In 1997, at the AZLK plant, it was decided to equip the Svyatogor hatchback with French engines of the Renault brand. So, the following units were present in the line of power units:
Renault F3R
This engine was developed in the early 80s of the last century and was serially installed on the French Renault-Laguna car, as well as on the Megan first generations. On all of the above machines, this power unit was installed transversely, but on the Moskvich it was installed longitudinally. Therefore, for the correct operation with the transmission, our engineers made small changes to the design of the F3R engine.
According to the technical characteristics, the F3R is an eight-valve two-liter gasoline unit with 4 cylinders. The total power of this engine is 113 horsepower.
Judging by the reviews, the French F3R was very high-speed, although its elasticity was quite enough for a calm movement. By the way, it was this unit from the entire line that possessed the most optimal power and traction characteristics, therefore it was the most popular among domestic motorists.
Experts attribute this engine to one of the most successful in automotive history, since its total resource reaches 500 thousand kilometers.
Dynamic characteristics "Svyatogor-Moskvich" had pretty good. Thanks to 113 "horses", the maximum speed that he could develop reached a mark of 175 kilometers per hour. The dynamics of acceleration in a car with this engine was also good - he scored "a hundred" in just 11 plus seconds. But, what is most noteworthy - this unit complies with the Euro-2 emission standards (and this is the engine of the construction of the 80s!).

Engine F7R
This unit was installed on many modifications of the Moskvich-2141 car. Among them are such rare versions as “Ivan Kalita”, “Prince Vladimir”, as well as “Duet”. Unlike the first engine described, the F7R was sixteen-valve. This design allowed to significantly increase the power of the unit by 32 horsepower. The working volume of the power plant is also 2 liters, but the torque has increased by 17 N / m and amounts to 188 N / m at 4.5 thousand revolutions per minute.

Unit F4R
This engine is also a sixteen-valve and has a displacement of 2.0 liters. However, what distinguishes him from previous "brothers" is the total power, which is equal to 140 "horses". By the way, this unit complies with the Euro-3 standard in terms of exhaust toxicity.
Operating experience
Many who have been operating Svyatogor called this machine unique. And these are not empty words. In evidence of this, you can bring at least even those power units that are installed on this car. In fact, they do not require major repairs over 500 thousand kilometers - that is, power plants here can be considered eternal. Also pleased with the dynamics of acceleration and moderate fuel consumption, which is kept within 10 liters per 100 kilometers.
But this is not the last, for which motorists praise Moskvich. The inside of the car also deserves everyone's attention. Yes, perhaps by today's standards the interior design is too ascetic, but the impressions of the trip can not be compared with any VAZ. Even the same “Russian Mercedes” (VAZ-2107) was far inferior to the “Svyatogor” in terms of build quality and level of comfort. The stove, unlike VAZ, works flawlessly and warms even in the most severe frost. In winter, the car starts up with a half-turn, even if it is minus 30 on the street. But, the most interesting thing is the cost of the car. In good condition, Svyatogor can be purchased for only 20-30 thousand rubles. However, after purchasing a car, motorists advise thoroughly treating the body with an anticorrosion, otherwise it will be covered with a brown coating around the entire perimeter. And when buying, you should refrain from choosing the already rusty "Muscovites", since eliminating this problem is almost impossible. For you have to completely re-cook the bottom. Although in Russia "Svyatogor" with a perfectly clean and not rusty body is quite possible to find. Moskvich-Svyatogor: tuning
Among the owners of the "Muscovites" of the 2141st model, very few are engaged in external tuning. The fact is that various plastic body kits and spoilers specifically for this hatchback model are not produced as, for example, for the Seven. Therefore, finding something suitable for the owner of Svyatogor is a very difficult task. Conceived motorists are limited only to tinted windows, installing cast fifteen-inch wheels and painting the body in metallic color (or airbrushing) the Moskvich-Svyatogor automobile. Headlights are equipped with "cilia", or acquire alternative optics. Rear-view mirrors can be supplied from Opel. In general, an option for external tuning is quite enough - you just need to find a suitable body kit and service station / atelier.
As for the technical part, things are simpler here. The Renault engine is unreasonable to change and force, since it already has normal characteristics. Other business - transmission. It can be replaced by a gearbox from the German Audi. The braking system is also being refined a bit. Here motorists change the front brakes to Volgovskys, more reliable. We do not recommend changing the suspension to a stiffer one, but for sports driving enthusiasts we will tell you how to do it. Interior
The inside of the car is processed to the taste of the car owner. The interior can be sheathed with any material. We recommend using Carpet for covering the ceiling, and vinyl or Alcantra for doors. The seats and steering wheel are also being replaced. Sport seats will be either bought or disassembled, it depends on your taste. The comfort of this will not decrease. Although many motorists emphasize the stiffness of sports seats and recommend installing them from foreign cars such as Ford, Audi and so on.
