The famous German crossover “Tuareg Volkswagen” was first born in 2002. The creation of a new Tuareg model was a new step for developers in the history of the concern, as this model was very popular not only at home, but far beyond its borders (and not only in the CIS countries). Over the 8 years of its existence, the first generation of SUVs has practically not changed in appearance and even in technical characteristics. But according to the modern requirements of the European market, each model should be updated at least once every 6 years. On this occasion, in 2010, the concern showed the public a new, second generation of the legendary crossovers “Tuareg Volkswagen”. 2013 also became a landmark year for the “German”, but this year the new product has not changed much in appearance, so today we will look at the 2011 SUV, which debuted in the spring of 2010.
Design
The appearance of the new crossover reminded its fans of the unified corporate style of Volkswagen, thanks to which the car somewhat resembled its younger brothers - the Golf and Polo models. But, despite this, confusing the new product with a car is quite difficult, and all thanks to the coordinated work of designers led by Walter de Silvo. Unlike its predecessor, the updated SUV has found a new headlight unit, a new bumper and a shape of a false radiator grille. All this as a whole gave the new product more harmony, fit and athleticism. Also, the car achieved such characteristics thanks to the increased dimensions of the body - in length it grew by 41 millimeters, another 12 millimeters increased in height, and the novelty became wider by 38 millimeters in width. At the same time, the design of the car remained quite recognizable.
Interior
Salon news survived, albeit unobtrusive, but very important changes. The interior of the “Tuareg Volkswagen” began to look more luxurious and solid, also the changes are clearly visible in the ergonomics and increased quality of finishing materials. By the way, thanks to small changes in dimensions, the inside of the car has become even more spacious, and the boot volume has increased to the level of 580 liters.

For buyers, the manufacturer has provided for the creation of a completely new line of engines. Now you can purchase both gasoline and diesel options. The 280-horsepower gasoline unit, the working volume of which is 3.6 liters, opens the line. This completes the line of injection engines (the company mainly focused on the development of diesel engines). As for engines running on heavy fuel, here the buyer can purchase one of 3 choice of units with a capacity of 240, 340 and 380 horsepower and a working volume of 3.0, 3.6 and 4.2 liters, respectively.
Cost
The minimum price for a new generation of German SUVs in 2013 is about 1 million 900 thousand rubles. For this price, the buyer can only buy a crossover with a gasoline engine. Volkswagen Tuareg diesel is slightly higher, its price can reach 3 million rubles (in the top configuration).
