Moscow State Museum of S. A. Yesenin: description, address, reviews

Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin is the greatest master of words and rhyme, who, unfortunately, has lived a very short life. However, over 30 years he managed to do a lot and left a huge amount of wonderful poems and poems to his descendants. In Moscow, the poet’s house now houses a museum dedicated to him.

The biography of the poet

He was born in an ordinary peasant family in the village of Konstantinovo, located in the Ryazan province. At the age of 17 he left his father's house and left for Moscow. For some time Sergey Alexandrovich worked in a butcher shop, then got a job in a printing house. The first publication in the magazine is the poem "Birch", which in our time is known to every student. Sergey Yesenin at that time was full of energy and tried with all his might to declare himself. In 1915, he decided to move to Petrograd. During the early work, the poet was closely associated with imagists, but later broke off relations with them because of ideological differences.

At the end of December 1925, Sergei Yesenin was found dead in the room of the Angleterre Hotel. One version of what happened is the murder, but this is not proven. The poet at the time of death was only 30 years old. His life was short, but very bright, eventful and impetuous.

The original building was wooden, but by the centenary of the poet it was demolished and a new brick house was built. In order to have one hundred percent resemblance to the original, he was sheathed with logs. In 1995, the opening of the Moscow State Museum of S. A. Yesenin took place.

Exposition

The entrance to the museum is decorated with a bust of Sergei Yesenin. Next to him is a vase of wildflowers, which the "last poet of the village" loved so much. The main highlight of the museum is a memorial room located behind a glass partition. You can’t enter it, but you can consider all the smallest details through the glass. The situation here is more like a village house than a city apartment. A large wrought-iron chest, a modest bed, covered with a multi-colored patchwork bedspread, a samovar, a simple rug on the floor, a wooden stool - all these details in the interior reflect the poet's unpretentious lifestyle. Here you can also see wildflowers standing in vases. The interior of the memorial room shows that Sergei Yesenin was the most ordinary village guy who was alien to luxury and excesses. In the corner hangs the icon of the Kazan Mother of God, which belonged to the poet, which speaks of his piety.

Memorial room

Near the memorial room there is a small lecture hall, on the walls of which numerous posters and publications flaunt. It is part of the exhibition, but if necessary, can be used as a gathering place for museum visitors.
