Forests occupy the third part of land on the planet. This natural wealth is the key to environmental stability, the foundation of the economy and an important part of the national economy. Caring for the national treasure is the task of all citizens in general and foresters in particular. Forester's Day, celebrated on the third September Sunday, underlines the importance of forest land.
From the history
Forest thickets revered in antiquity. The religion of druids is based on the symbolism of trees, grasses and shrubs. Pagan Slavs animated trees, worshiped their spirits. The Romans had a feast of Lucaria, which is similar to our Trinity. On this day, they sang songs, cast spells and dreamed of good. In Italy there is a holiday, Tree Day, which is similar to the Day of the forester.
All these solemn dates call for the protection of trees from ruthless destruction. This is especially true today, since the whole world has already thought about the environmental situation and possible disasters.
In 1977, the Forest Law was adopted in the USSR to protect and increase forest areas throughout the country. Three years later, the decree "On holidays and memorable days" established the Day of the forester, which is celebrated by people associated with forestry: rangers, foresters, all forestry workers.
The solemn day is celebrated not only in our country, but also in neighboring states: Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus.
Who is a forester
Forester - a forestry worker who is assigned a specific section of the massif with its plantings, buildings, structures and other property. This post is taken by persons who have been trained in a specialized educational institution or in courses. The employee must be able to:
- detect, extinguish and prevent fires;
- protect the array from unauthorized cutting;
- protect trees from pests and diseases;
- protect animals, their habitat;
- carry out forestry work.
Forester's Day shows the importance of a difficult profession and calls on citizens to join forest workers. This date is simply necessary in our time, as the area of ββforests is constantly reduced. The work of the forester is of particular importance, because he not only protects the land from illegal logging or hunting, but also participates in the planting of new arrays, controls the health of plants and trees, and maintains observation posts in good condition. Forestry is in first place among the environmental systems of the state.
Forester's Day: holiday date
The solemn date does not have a fixed number, but is set as the third Sunday of September. Every year, foresters get together in the fall, exchange experiences, listen to speeches and congratulations from the administration. Relatives and friends set the rich table. At the end of September, it is very beautiful in the forest, so even in the soul the mood of the holiday is created.
Forester's Day in 2013 was held on September 15th. It was solemnly celebrated by all workers associated with forestry: loggers, specialists in pulp and paper mills, inspectors and representatives of related professions. In 2014, the holiday falls on September 21.
Everyone knows the slogan "Take care of the forest!". All residents of the country should listen to these words and think about how they behave in the forest, because we need clean air, berries, mushrooms, and just places to relax.
