Model history
The first generation of the Cadillac Escalade SUV was put into mass production in 1999. The car was created on the basis of the GMC Yukon Denali model. In an attempt to quickly bring a new SUV to the luxury car market of this class, General Motors lost: the lack of a new design and not the best technical characteristics led to the fact that the production of the first generation Escalade was phased out in 2000 due to low demand.
The second generation Cadillac Escalade was demonstrated in 2001. The new version of the SUV was developed on the GMT800 platform. The car has got a corporate design, basic rear-wheel drive equipment and an eight-seater saloon.
In 2006, the third generation Escalade was launched in Texas. A car was created on the GMT900 platform and was offered in the back of a pickup truck and in the long-wheelbase version. The third Cadillac began to be officially sold in Russia, including in the hybrid version, however, rear-wheel drive modifications were not supplied to our market.
The fourth generation of the luxury Cadillac Escalade SUV was launched in 2014. The car is produced to this day.
