As you know, time is transferred an hour forward in the spring and an hour ago in the fall. But many people, despite the fact that this is a well-known fact, forget about it. Fortunately, the transfer is carried out from Saturday to Sunday, when most working or studying people have days off. But still, it is important to know when to translate the clock this year and what modern gadgets do it automatically.
Dates for changing the time one hour back and forth in 2018
Europe sets the time for daylight saving time one hour ahead of 03/25/2018. This does not apply only to Belarus, Russia and Iceland, which canceled the change of time regime. The clock hands are usually translated between 1:00 and 4:00. Such a change in time allows you to increase the "duration of daylight in the evening" and, accordingly, has a positive effect on labor productivity, although this fact is controversial .. Since this happens on the last night from Saturday to Sunday, the dates change every year.
10/28/2018 at 2.00 a.m. will switch to winter time. The hands of the clock should be turned back an hour. In order to remember exactly where to move the clock hands - forward or backward, there is a saying: "forward forward in spring, back in autumn" (spring forward in spring, fall back in fall).
Currently, only 100 countries out of 192 translate clock hands twice a year. For example, on the African continent, only 3 countries change the time regime. The rest, however, consider it inappropriate to change the clock, and the governments of others have never even thought about whether and when to change the clock. In Australia, Canada and the USA, watches are only partially translated, some regions or cities.
Back in 2014, Russia stopped changing the time regime, this practice is now valid throughout the Russian Federation.
How does time translation affect a person?
In spring, when time decreases by an hour, a person automatically lacks sleep for 60 minutes. In winter, on the contrary, everyone has an extra hour of sleep. There are still discussions around the world regarding the degree of influence of the clock on a person.
So, supporters of the translation insist that changing the clock in the winter allows you to reduce the number of accidents on the roads and save electricity, which is important in the cold season.
Some hypersensitive to the slightest personality changes suffer from a lack of sleep, especially when the clock is switched to daylight saving time. But, as a rule, this passes after a day or two. In winter, this does not cause significant inconvenience, since an additional hour appears to devote it either to your favorite business, or to do morning exercises or soak up once again in a warm bed.
There are opponents of this idea, who every year insist on the inappropriateness of the clock, as this negatively affects both the person and his activities. Due to these reasons, many countries canceled the change in the time regime in 1992. These include Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan.
In order to avoid the negative impact of modification and the amount of time in days, it is worth preparing your body for this process in advance. So, a week before the spring time transfer, you should get up 30 minutes earlier than usual. Thus, the body will gradually reorganize to a new time. Going to bed is also early. This will allow the whole body to relax more, and then a person will wake up full of energy and strength.
Does the watch automatically translate on modern gadgets?
On all gadgets, including phones, smartphones and computer equipment that has an Internet connection, an automatic time transfer takes place. Therefore, the question: βWhat is the daylight saving time?β Is purely exploratory in nature. Modern technology does it all for a person. In 2018, the transition to summer time will occur on March 25, and winter time on October 28.
In anticipation of the transition to daylight saving time, many Russians are confident that in 2018, the transfer of time will definitely return to Russia. So far, in response to this question, like every year, at the level of discussions, the authorities have not officially announced anything.
Who first suggested moving the watch?
The idea of ββwhen to translate the clock and why it is needed was first put forward in 1784 by Benjamin Franklin. The essay The Economic Project, written by Franklin at 78, was found to be funny, although he clearly explained his proposal and confirmed it with facts. According to him, daylight saving time was necessary for people in order to spend less on expensive candles and artificial lighting, but could just continue their work in daylight. Benjamin confirmed all of his conclusions in the essay with averaged figures that clearly indicate cost savings. Then no one took this idea into account, since he considered it a funny trick of a "sick and elderly" person.
Subsequently, moving the clock forward or backward depending on the season was proposed by William Willett in 1907. Relying on his research, Willett suggested moving the clock 80 minutes ahead in April and 80 minutes ago in September. But for the first time, the transfer of watches, as it is at present, took place in 1916. During World War II, the watch was only set on May 21, as it was forgotten to do so in April.
