Treatment of cervical erosion only under medical supervision

Cervical erosion is one of the most common gynecological diseases. According to statistics, the carrier of this pathology is every second woman on the planet. Erosion is a violation of the integrity of the cervical mucosa. When a woman finds out that she was diagnosed, the question immediately arises: what to do, how to cure cervical erosion. You should not look for an answer to this question on your own, and even more so resort to traditional medicine. Folk remedies, most likely, will not only not be cured, but will aggravate the situation.

It should be noted that erosion can only be detected when a woman makes another, sometimes protracted, visit to a gynecologist. The fact is that cervical erosion may not show any signs of its existence at all. Often, however, a pull is felt in the lower abdomen, and white or bloody discharge appears. But practice shows that in rare cases women pay attention to this. Since any disease is easier to treat at an early stage, the conclusion is this: at least twice a year to be examined by a gynecologist and monitor your sex life.

The causes of erosion can be very diverse: inflammatory processes in the vagina, mechanical injuries (childbirth, obortion), genital infections (chlamydia, mycoplasmas), weakened immunity, hormonal imbalance, and much more. It will be possible to establish a specific reason only after a full examination and the delivery of the necessary analyzes.

As mentioned above, treatment of cervical erosion should not be carried out independently. It is better to listen to a doctor and begin to comply with all his prescriptions. The gynecologist will begin the treatment of cervical erosion by examining the affected area well, since the most effective treatment method will be selected depending on the size of the erosion. A biopsy will be taken from the patient, and some other studies can also be prescribed by the doctor.

If any inflammatory processes or infections became the cause of erosion, then first you will have to recover from them, and only then proceed to remove the formation. Today, cervical erosion can be treated using one of the methods described below.

Diathermocoagulation

In simple terms, this is cauterization of erosion by discharges of electric current. A fairly old method and so far the most common. It is worth noting that the procedure is far from pleasant, since during cauterization, the uterus is reduced, while strong pain appears in the lower abdomen. The procedure itself lasts an average of 20 minutes, during which a slight smell of fried meat is felt in the air. After the procedure is completed, a scar forms, and within a few weeks the patient has a clear, less often bloody discharge.

Cryotherapy

The essence of this method is to affect erosion with liquid nitrogen, as a result, it is destroyed without scarring. The duration of the procedure is about 10 minutes, with almost no pain.

Radio wave surgery

Treatment of cervical erosion with this method is non-contact, using exposure to radio waves. The procedure is quick, while a scar does not form and the occurrence of pain is excluded.

Chemical coagulation

Removal of education with the help of special medications (for example, solkovagin). The drug is applied to erosion, and a slight tingling sensation can be felt. Effective only in the treatment of small formations, although even in this case, complete recovery may not occur.

Laser therapy

Laser treatment of cervical erosion is a modern and quite expensive method. Only some clinics use it so far, so not all women can count on it. The method consists in influencing the formation with a laser beam, while scar formation is excluded.

Thus, the treatment of cervical erosion in our time is quite feasible. True, sometimes it lasts longer than we would like. And all because no method can be 100% effective. Here the main thing is not to let go of the situation and to treat erosion, if there are no other ways out of this situation.
