Currently, the Ekaterinburg Suvorov School is a federal state treasury educational institution under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Story
The history of the creation of the Yekaterinburg Suvorov School is known that it was formed during the war according to special resolution No. 901 of the USSR Council of People's Commissars, which was published in August 1943. Thus, the Soviet government took care of restoring normal life in the liberated areas, and the most urgent measures in this regard were the education and training of minor orphans. The main goal was not only secondary education. The boys trained as future officers of the Soviet Army. Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg) Suvorov School was first located in the ancient and very beautiful city of Yelets and was called Orlovsky.
The first Suvorovites had a hard time. The Ekaterinburg Suvorov School of our time would not even dream of this: Suvorov residents were allocated single-storey houses with large stoves for heating, and these young men did not have manuals or textbooks, and wrote homework on old newspapers. Even qualified teachers were not. However, those little boys did not feel the difficulties as our contemporaries did. They were glad they did not stay on the street. And the desire to learn military affairs was extremely many. And in 1943, the military Red Banner was delivered here, and since then the Yekaterinburg Suvorov School has considered December 19th to be its own holiday - a birthday.
Start
At that time, nine military schools of Suvorov were immediately opened, including the one that was formed in Yelets with such difficulties. It is no coincidence that this city was chosen. Back in 1843, that is, exactly one hundred years ago, the Bakhtin cadet corps was opened in Orel (it was the landowner Mikhail Bakhtin who made a huge contribution to the opening of this corps). And a century later, he was replaced by the Oryol, and later - the Federal State-Funded Educational Institution "Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School".
The first head of the school was Major General Alexei Vasilyevich Kuzmin. And since then the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School has been holding the Red Banner high. How to enter there to become a worthy officer, many modern boys are interested.
The first Suvorovites
In the first set there were five hundred and fourteen people. For the most part, these kids already knew what war was. Among them were the sons of the regiment, and the real front-line soldiers - signalmen and scouts, even partisans. And those who did not have time to fight, for the most part, knew what occupation was. What is the bombing - everyone knew. And with burning eyes they listened to those who had already been in battles, who had already received their not-so-boyish government awards. This is Zhenya Simpura, Vitya Chernyak, Volodya Valakhov, Vitaly Bogdanov, Dima Krasnikov ... The Yekaterinburg Suvorov School (Yekaterinburg) is rightfully proud of the fact that the predecessors of today's Suvorovites had a chance to participate in parades on Red Square, and not only in the Victory Parade 1945 , but also in May Day, and in the parade on November 7th of this year.
To Yekaterinburg!
Only in 1947, the Oryol School was transferred home - to Sverdlovsk (later the city returned its name - Yekaterinburg). The cadets were given a building with spacious classrooms, with huge bright windows. It belonged to the officer infantry school, which for some time remained in one wing of the building. The cadets had an example to follow!
And in 1948, the long-awaited first graduation took place - with the first study students, photographs of which are still on the Honor Board in the school hall. There are many of them! In June 2016, the Federal State-Funded Educational Institution "Ekaterinburg Suvorov School" graduated over all the years of its existence 745 cadets - gold and silver medalists. Eleven graduates of the school carry the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and Hero of Russia. Many of them became officers and received the highest government awards for courage in the performance of military duty.
Teachers
Difficult war and post-war years passed. Now the Yekaterinburg Suvorov School receives feedback from graduates, overwhelmed with gratitude, because the unique teaching experience has gathered here. Almost all teachers work in the highest and first qualification categories. It is thanks to their work and tireless care that the students receive not only worthy training, but also high military, physical, moral and aesthetic education.
Suvorovites have someone to look up to: indisputable authority is enjoyed by veteran labor teachers, honored teachers of Russia. In 1990, the school was recognized as the best among the Suvorov, and then he was awarded a prize from the Ministry of Defense of the Soviet Union - a bust of Alexander Vasilievich Suvorov and a certificate of honor.
Graduates
For more than seventy years there has been an order of admission to the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School. Specific information for applicants will be given below. The main thing is that the selection is more than harsh. As a result, more than sixteen thousand people graduated from college - for almost seventy graduations. And what are these graduates! More than fifty of them became generals!
They speak of their predecessors with particular pride. These are Hero of the Soviet Union Valery Vostrotin, Hero of Russia Victor Kazantsev, Hero of Russia Roman Spiridonov, Hero of Russia Mikhail Minenkov, Hero of Russia Sergey Vlasov. All of them have succeeded in the service of Russia.
Step to the Feat
The school especially honors the feat and glory of the seven graduates of the school who received the title of Hero of Russia posthumously. They served honestly and fulfilled their military duty to the end. All Suvorovites know their names, remember their exploits, and are proud to learn from the same teachers and in the same classrooms. And they will always honor their blessed memory.
This is 1981 graduate Major Sergei Kurnosenko, who stormed Grozny in 1995. The tank he commanded led the attack. The gunner’s wound, and Sergey took his place. Shooting from a cannon and a machine gun, he was able to destroy three armored objects, more than twenty grenade launchers and shooters. Sergey’s tank was followed by all other units, encouraged by his pressure. However, the lead tank was hit, and Sergey Kurnosenko was seriously injured. Nevertheless, he continued to shoot until he died of blood loss.
First Chechen war
Major Igor Petrikov, a 1983 graduate, fought there and then. Legends went about his courage and resourceful inventiveness in Chechnya, the militants were afraid of his fighters like fire, and considered their commander invincible. And even with his death he won! He raised an ambushed company to attack when there were no escape routes, and he himself led it. The militants were knocked out of their positions. Major Petrikov died.
There and then the senior lieutenant Sergey Firsov fought in the Marine Corps. He managed to make many feats during the storming of Grozny, but once a group of scouts was ambushed. And for four hours, four soldiers surrounded surrounded by more than one and a half hundred furious militants. No one gave up. No one survived. Sergei Firsov found seventy-two bullet wounds. He also graduated from the Sverdlovsk Suvorov School in 1988.
Major Vitaly Talabaev, who graduated from the Sverdlovsk Suvorov School in 1990 the famous Ryazan and became one of the most heroic warriors of the airborne troops, also fought there and then. His exploits in the Chechen war are not articles, but books are worthy. He died in 1999, ensuring, as always, victory in his last battle.
Second Chechen War
There, but a little later, in the Second Chechen War, Lieutenant Yuri Kuryagin participated, who graduated from the Ekaterinburg Suvorov School in 1994. He served in the Northern Fleet in the Marine Corps, was the commander of an assault landing unit. He won many fights, always went to the end. Being repeatedly wounded, the battlefield did not leave, continued to direct the actions of the fighters and destroy the enemy. Killed by a sniper. But before that, he destroyed the machine gun crew, several fighter-grenade launchers and many other bandits.
In the same place, in the Second Chechen War, captain Alexander Ivanov posthumously earned the title of Hero of Russia, who, after graduating from the Sverdlovsk Suvorov Military School in 1991, studied at the military aviation school in Syzran. Helicopter link commander. In the Argun Gorge, he overshadowed the rest of the vehicles that performed the mission, and took all the fire on himself.
Everyone remembers another remarkable Russian pilot, recently Lt. Col. Oleg Peshkov, who recently died heroically in Syria. He also graduated from the Sverdlovsk Suvorov School in 1987.
Scientists
Among the graduates of the school there are a lot of scientists - candidates and doctors of sciences, corresponding members of the Academy of Sciences, professors, academicians and honored figures. This is Doctor of Sciences Igor Dobrovolsky, leading physicist of the Institute of Earth Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, this is Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences UMO Scientific Secretary Igor Kosarev, this is Doctor of Historical Sciences Viktor Skobrov, this is Doctor of Medical Sciences Pavel Gladkikh, this is Scientific Director of the Institute of Nuclear Research Academician Vladimir Kadyshevsky .
This is the State Prize laureate for the implementation of emergency automation Evgeni Moshkin, the State Prize laureate, military chemist, creator and developer of counteraction to high-precision air-to-ground and air-to-ground missiles Valery Kornilov, this is Doctor of Law Peter Savitsky and many others. Their names can be listed for quite some time. Teachers from the Suvorov School built a very solid foundation of knowledge from the first years of its existence, and they were also very good at instilling in their pupils a love of learning, self-discipline, perseverance and the joy of creativity.
Modern realities
Now more than five hundred Suvorov students are studying at the school, and there are practically no three-thirds among them. The best are encouraged by increased scholarships - from the Ministry of Defense and personalized: named after General Kazantsev, named after Marshal Zhukov, from the Union of Cadets of the Urals, from the Union of Reserve Officers, even from the bishop of the Yekaterinburg diocese.
It is this educational institution that implements important educational programs, including experimental ones, in life. So, in 2009 the Yekaterinburg Suvorov School for Girls opened its doors. In 2014 there was the first and last experimental release. They came here at the age of twelve, and five years later - immediately after graduation - all the girls decided to enter military universities. The Yekaterinburg Suvorov School for Girls has become a good school. And they gave the school a lot: they taught the Suvorovites to dance, introduced them to various works, moreover, the boys became much more disciplined. Everyone regrets that the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School for Girls is now closed.
Admission
Upon admission to any Suvorov school, uniform rules apply. After graduating from the fourth grade of a comprehensive school, the age of the Suvorov school entering the fifth grade should not exceed twelve years. You can also apply for admission to the Suvorov School in all subsequent classes from the fifth. The last opportunity to get to the Yekaterinburg Suvorov School is after 9th grade in the tenth, if the age does not exceed seventeen years.
There are a lot of documents necessary for the application to the parents ’application for the adoption of their son. First of all, this is a statement written by the candidate personally. A copy of the birth certificate must be certified, plus those who are already fourteen years old must attach certified copies of the second, third and fifth pages of the passport of the Russian Federation. All relying medical documents, copies of the personal file from the secondary school, characteristics from the class teacher and psychologist must be present.
