September 10 in the basement on Petrovsky Boulevard opened the Buddhist center "Karma Kagyu" (Moscow).
Ole Nydahl - spiritual mentor of Slavic Buddhists
As soon as the renovation of the premises has been completed, Moscow Buddhists are already making plans for expansion. Additional territory will be required to create a cultural center and art exhibition.
The doctrine of spiritual values, the bearer of which is the Karma Kagyu diamond path Buddhism, has become available to the world community thanks to 72-year-old Ola Nydahl (Denmark), a famous spiritual mentor of the Buddhist school of the same name. During his recent visit to Russia, Nydahl called on local Buddhists to help establish the first Buddhist meditation center in Moscow.
Helpless angry
Touching upon the importance of meditation, the Western guest did not hesitate to note that "the mind can know itself only when it is at rest" and emphasized the importance of investing in this area (the development of the mind), because it is all that a person can take with him, leaving this world, - the lama explained.
Karma Kagyu, the spiritual mentor of the school, urged local Buddhists to regard the feeling of anger as an indicator of helplessness, and to get rid of it in every way, taking time to develop awareness, fearlessness and compassion.
Ole Nydahl's lectures were attended by more than 3 thousand people, most of whom are the younger generation and middle-aged people. The questions addressed to the lecturer mainly concerned methods of self-improvement and suppression of harmful feelings, such as, for example, anger.
Having shared with the audience some tricks to get rid of him, Ole Nydahl advised the audience to consider this feeling as an unnecessary thing that cannot be sold, so it remains only to throw it away.
Basics of Karma Kagyu
Also, a Buddhist mentor advised those who came to the lecture not to be angry with a bad person, but to try to arouse a feeling of compassion for him: after all, he is not able to part with his vices and is forced to endure them 24 hours a day. Doesn't he deserve compassion? According to Nydahl, anger is nothing but a loss of spirit presence. That is why a person, being in anger, resembles an idiot.
The lama devoted much time to explaining his understanding of his self. According to the teachings of Karma Kagyu, the "I" of each person should not be identified with thoughts and feelings, and even more so with the physical body, since the phenomena just listed are transient. The lecturer called mindfulness a mirror reflecting transient things and assured those present that, feeling himself a conscious being, a person receives fearlessness.
Ole Nydahl also noted that people who have gained fearlessness soon have feelings of abundance, joy, compassion for all living creatures and a desire to do everything possible that is necessary for the benefit of other people.
As part of a lecture on the Karma Kagyu teachings, Nidal told the audience that space, according to his beliefs, is an information field that exists outside of time, and this fact has already been proved by American scientists.
The following became known to the lecturers about the work of Western researchers: during the experiments, the philosophy of the Buddha was confirmed, which more than once told its followers: βform is emptiness, and emptiness is formβ.
Every Being is a Potential Buddha
During the meeting, the lecturer reminded the audience that each creature is a potential Buddha, since everything that is necessary for this is already inside everyone, and advised him to trust his critical mind more, not forgetting the existence of the law of cause and effect.
When the conversation touched on work with expectations, the mentor of the Karma Kagyu Buddhist school recommended a methodology, the essence of which is to wish no one harm, think only about the positive aspects of life and act so that all living beings are not offended. The more global good wishes for the good of others, the sooner the expectations will come true.
The lecturer advised the audience to abandon negative attacks on others, as criticism makes people sad. β... if you praise people for what they donβt do, but should, then they gradually begin to identify with this,β summed Ole Nydahl.
The Buddhist guru recommended the followers of the Buddhist tradition and future students of the Karma Kagyu school (Moscow) not to forget that anger is an indicator of helplessness, and to make every effort so that anger is replaced by sympathy, implicated in the desire to help others.
