Julia Kogan is a red-haired beauty with a stunning voice, who is known as an ex-vocalist of the Leningrad group. Before gaining popularity, this beauty had to go through a lot, but her talent was still noticed. Let's get to know her better.
Start
March 20, 1981 in St. Petersburg in an ordinary family was born Julia Mikhailovna Kogan. From childhood, the girl went to the swimming section, which helped her for many years to maintain a beautiful fit figure. Nevertheless, her soul was always drawn to creativity and singing. Unfortunately, Julia’s parents did not have money for expensive vocal teachers, so she attended a school singing club, where she was taught the basics of vocals and put on a strong and expressive voice.
After graduating from high school, Julia Kogan studied at a vocational school as a pastry chef, and only later she entered the vocal department at the theater academy on Mokhovaya. It is noteworthy that she managed to do even without special training and specialized training, which many undergo before exams.
Vocal career
Vocal career of Yulia Kogan began long before the end of the institute - she was a prima in the student theater "Through the Looking Glass", went on tour. But it was still far from real popularity. In 2003, after a successful graduation, Julia Kogan tried herself in various fields - she was a model, starred in various TV shows and projects. Model career went uphill, but for the sake of music, Julia decided to abandon her.

Everyone was struck by the fact that the girl could easily take an unbearably high note, perform any work. In 2006, she managed to get first place at the festival in Jurmala. But the real popularity came to her in 2007, when Sergei Shnurov invited her as a backing vocalist to his group "Leningrad". The chic voice of the girl gave the songs of the collective a unique charm. The girl became an integral part of the team, it was already impossible to imagine “Leningrad” without her strong vocals. The girl refused her second job for the sake of creativity in the group, since it brought her a good income. But this did not last long - the group broke up in 2009 due to creative differences.
Return
But in 2010, Sergei Shnurov and other members of the group decided to reunite again. Did not miss the opportunity to return to the team and Julia Kogan, songs of "Leningrad" for which became a pass to the big stage. Now the girl has become not a backing vocalist, but a full-fledged soloist of the group.
In April 2011, Leningrad released its album “Henna”, the cover of which was adorned with an interesting photo by Yulia Kogan, who decided to recall her modeling past. Fans were divided into 2 camps: some believed that Julia was the decoration of the group, and some believed that the soloist should be alone, and this is Shnurov. Nevertheless, the group was rapidly gaining popularity, and the girl managed to play in other projects, one of which was a joint clip of Andrei Knyazev and Julia Kogan "The Witch". Julia starred in the 11th season of the television project “Battle of psychics” as an invited guest. In 2012, the girl stopped working as part of the group, and in 2013 she was fired. This happened because after leaving the decree she was invited to appear in the program "I'm Right!" on the U channel. Sergei Shnurov did not like this, and he resolved the disagreement firmly - he dismissed the vocalist.
Solo career and personal life
Since 2014, Julia began to closely engage in her solo career. Even before that, she performed solo works in various places, delighting the audience with her amazing voice, but did not release albums. Her first recital after leaving Leningrad was her performance at the St. Petersburg club Sea.
In 2015, Julia released her first debut album, which she called "Fire Baba." It included 17 compositions, the most popular of which are “Blah blah blah”, “Lips on the lips”, “Nikita”, “I scream” and “Dance with me”. What is noteworthy, Julia shot clips on all of her popular singles, which are somewhat reminiscent of the theme of the clips of "Leningrad".
Despite all the trials of life, in her personal life, Julia Kogan is doing well. Julia’s husband is a famous photographer Anton Booth, with whom they have been happily married for many years. January 14, 2013 the couple had a baby - little Elizabeth. The presence of a family does not interfere with Julia's self-realization in any way; she still goes with concerts in Russia.
