Correct installation of outlets is a guarantee of their durability

Do-it-yourself repair contributes to significant cash savings. But this saving is not always justified by the good quality of independently performed work, such as replacing flooring, redevelopment, wall decoration, installation of a cascading ceiling and even installation of outlets. This is not surprising, because a person does not face repairs in his apartment every year, therefore, experience has nowhere to take. And the companies performing repair work have in their staff experienced qualified workers who, unfortunately, will not work for free. Therefore, not having enough money, many apartment owners carry out repairs themselves.

How does the installation of outlets begin?

Outlet Installation
When it comes to overhaul, you should pay attention to the condition of the electrical wiring and decide on its possible replacement. If its condition does not meet the technical requirements, then the wiring must be replaced. The process of replacing wiring itself is not as complicated as installing electrical outlets. The thing is that the wiring is hidden from the eyes of a person, but improperly installed outlets can spoil the new interior or have an arrangement that is inconvenient for their operation. Therefore, in order to ensure that the quality of the installation of electrical outlets meets all the requirements, do not rush and carry out their installation, as they say, by eye.

Installation of outlets begins with the exact marking of the surface of the walls in places of their future location. Based on the places defined for the sockets, wiring is laid from the junction box at the entrance to the room to future outlets.

Wall mounting

Installation of electrical outlets
Currently, mortise sockets are used for installation in residential premises, so a hole in the wall is required for the outlet box. The outlet box is designed directly for mounting the outlet itself. To install it using a special round crown with victorious teeth, and a perforator make a hole in the wall.

If the wall is concrete, then before using the crown, it is necessary to drill a dozen holes in a place reserved for the socket using a hammer drill. This will facilitate the work of the crown and prevent the possibility of breaking off the teeth, which sometimes happens when the walls are made of high-quality concrete. The receptacle box is securely fixed in the hole using asbestos mortar and the further installation of outlets is easy installation. To do this, the ends of the wires brought out through the outlet box (not less than ten centimeters) are connected to the contacts of the outlet and fastened to the outlet box.

Drywall Installation

Installation of sockets in drywall
When it is necessary to install sockets in drywall, you need to make holes in it for socket boxes in advance. Since drywall is a soft material, holes can even be made with an ordinary knife.

Outlets are fitted with outlet boxes specially designed for installation in partitions and hollow walls. Their difference from the usual ones is that on the sides they have special clamping screws, which, with the help of metal petals, securely attach the outlet box to the walls of drywall. The rest of the installation of sockets is the same as when installing in the walls - with the only difference being that it is much easier to work with drywall than with concrete walls.
