The arrangement of fences on a personal plot should be treated responsibly. After all, structures for this purpose perform not only a protective, but also an aesthetic function. Currently, homeowners are increasingly installing a fence with brick pillars. Let's find out how to cope with this task without the help of specialists.
Foundation for a fence with brick pillars
Under the fence of this kind, you can lay both a strip and
column foundation. To lay the foundation under the fence with brick pillars, the following materials will be required:
- crushed stone;
- cement;
- a rock;
- sand;
- metal fittings.
To lay the strip foundation, a pit is first dug, the width of which corresponds to the width of the spans of the future fence. Next, metal fittings are mounted in the trench. In conclusion, cement is poured in one go. Moreover, the depth of the composition should not exceed 50 cm from the soil surface. Otherwise, brick pillars may not be stable enough.
As for the columnar foundation, its pouring is carried out exclusively on stable soil. To install it, drill holes directly in the proposed locations for the supports of the future fence to the depth of freezing of the soil. In the center of the columnar pit, a vertical pipe is installed. The latter plays the role of the foundation of a brick pillar. To make the structure as durable as possible, experts advise placing metal reinforcement in the pipe, which is poured with concrete. Next, the prepared post is fixed with props and left in this position for several days until the concrete finally hardens.
Fence construction tools
To build a fence (with brick poles, of course) from sheet material, the following tools will be required:
- shovel and bayonet shovel ;
- building level;
- kapron thread;
- yardstick;
- the hammer;
- hammer drill;
- screwdrivers, screwdrivers;
- a set of drills for metal;
- concrete mixer;
- paint brushes;
- welding machine.
Installation of brick pillars
For the construction of brick pillars for the installation of fencing, a cement-sand mixture with a ratio of these components of 1: 3 is required. Before the start of the masonry, the foundation is waterproofed in areas where the supports will subsequently be located. To do this, it is enough to use roofing material or other available material.
Before the end of the working day, it is recommended to completely lay out the brick pillar. Only in this case, the design will be stable and able to withstand maximum loads.
At the end, the brick pillar under the fence is covered with a decorative cover. The latter can be made of sheet steel, cast from concrete or cut out of galvanized steel. If you plan to install factory-made covers on the ends of the poles, it is advisable to give preference to products painted with pigmented compositions that do not “clog” after the first rain.
Installing the frame under the fence
To make a corrugated fence with brick pillars, preparation of the frame is required. The latter is formed from steel reinforcement using arc welding. The main task here is a strong connection of metal lintels with vertical pipes pre-mounted in the foundation, which are the basis of future brick pillars. For these purposes, one steel profile is welded at the bottom of the column, the other at the top.
Next, using a masonry mortar of medium ductility, the installation of facing bricks is carried out. Upon completion of the formation of the columns, they proceed to the installation of corrugated sheets. Two masters may well cope with such work.
How to build a fence from corrugated board with brick pillars?
When choosing material for the construction of the fence, it is better to give preference to products with a corrosion-resistant coating or a layer of galvanization. To prevent damage to the edges of corrugated sheets allows the imposition of cardboard on the foundation.
To make a fence with brick pillars, as fasteners for connecting the planes of the fence, use screws with a size of 30 mm or more. In the course of work, an electric drill or a screwdriver is used. Moreover, these tools must support the mode of operation at low speeds.
The sheets of corrugated board are superimposed on each other with an overlap in a single wave. Then, at the joints, they are fixed with fasteners. Places of damage to the material with screws are painted over with alkyd paint.
Finally
Tape fences with brick pillars from corrugated board with a length of about 15 meters are built for about 2 weeks. Laying sheets of material is quite realistic on their own. The help of a specialist may be needed only in the construction of directly brick pillars.
