Igor Butman Club on Taganka is the jazz center of the capital. It opened in 2007 and has been repeatedly declared the best jazz club in the world. At first, the organization was located on Chistye Prudy. In 2014, the club moved to Taganka. Concerts are held here and interesting projects are born. The club of I. Igor Butman

I. Butman was born in Leningrad, in 1961. Igor graduated from the M. Mussorgsky College of Music. It was there that he became interested in the saxophone. After graduating from college, he moved to Moscow and worked in the Oleg Lundstrem orchestra.

In 1987, Igor moved to live in the United States. There he graduated from Berkeley College of Music with a degree in composer and saxophonist. Since 1991 he worked in the Lionel Hampton Orchestra in New York.

In 1996, I. Butman returned to Russia.

From 1989 to 2005 Igor led his own television program “Jazzophrenia” on the channel “Culture”.

In 1999, the musician created a big band, with whom he traveled to a large number of countries. In 2003, the I. Butman Orchestra recorded their first album.

In 2007, he organized his own jazz club. Today, Igor Butman knows and loves not only Russia, but the whole world. He is actively involved in various television shows, is a laureate of awards and runs a record company. I. Butman was awarded the title "People's Artist of Russia".
