It must be installed with an edge along the surface and along the diagonals. For each application, measure the clearance between the ruler and the plane of the head. If its value exceeds 0.1 mm, then the cylinder head must be replaced.
When examining the condition of the cylinder head, you should also check the bearing surfaces under the neck of the shaft on the head, as well as the
bearing housings. If signs of wear, deep risks and scores are detected, then the entire assembly should be replaced. At this visual inspection of the head is over.
Next, the cylinder head repair itself begins. And more precisely, the process of restoring the initial state. It is necessary to begin this procedure with washing the oil channels. To do this, you need ordinary gasoline, which refuel the vehicle. First, plug the vertical channel between the 3 and 4 cylinders. Then pour gasoline into each channel. After that, leave him there for about twenty minutes. During this time, all the dirt inside will get wet. After the set time has elapsed, it is necessary to drain the filled fuel, remove the plug and finally rinse the channels with gasoline and pear.
In the next step, check the valves for leaks. To do this, they need to fill in kerosene. If within a few minutes the liquid that has been poured does not leak out, then they are airtight. Otherwise, it is necessary to grind or replace them.
Further cylinder head repair consists in removing the valves, removing the valve stem seals and the lower spring plates. After performing this procedure, all these elements must be cleaned of carbon deposits. If the valves have deep risks, scratches, cracks, deformations and burnout marks, they should be replaced. It is also important to check the condition of their saddles and pushers. They should not have traces of corrosion, wear. You should also evaluate the condition of the valve springs and their elasticity. Broken, cracked and curved should be replaced.
